Is it time to change the timing, the car is 8 years old, 123tys. Pass? Is it good to exchange the timing, also replace the chain connecting the camshafts to avoid unnecessary exchanges, can you verify the condition of the chain after undressing or only after the auscultation? the upper timing belt cover and somehow verify its condition?

    Hello,
The manufacturer of the timing replacement predicts normal conditions of 240,000 or 10 years and in difficult conditions 180,000 or 10 years, and it's best to stick to it. As for the chain in this engine, the chain itself does not wear out and the manufacturer does not predict its replacement, but it happens that too long driving with low oil level causes damage to the chain tensioner causing noise, then the chain tensioner must be replaced.

And the reality is that the quality of oil used, the period between replacements, operating conditions shorten the life of the timing on the chain to 50% of the mileage suggested by the manufacturer.

Timing and all elements of the intake air intake, with EGR and intake manifold inclusive.
