I installed the cigarette lighter and plugged the power cable to the cable going to the radio - as shown in the picture. but the cigarette lighter fuse has blown - should I give a bigger fuse or connect the cigarette lighter power elsewhere?

What is the cross section of this cable that supplies electricity to the radio and the cigarette lighter?
What load are you putting on the lighter? but 15A is quite enough. So about 130W continuous at 12V.

    Hello
The 15A fuse should be enough for a standard cigarette lighter. Connecting to the radio power cable is not inappropriate, as long as the wire cross-section is not less than 1.5mm. A thinner wire will heat up and may melt the insulation on it, causing a short circuit. This cable is powered to the radio. In order not to have any surprises, do a little trouble and lead to the cigarette lighter separately, a cable with the appropriate cross-section through the 15A fuse directly from one of the main power wires in the fuse box. These are wires with a larger cross-section of 2.5, 3 mm.

The lamp is standard 12V without any fairy tales like backlighting etc. Radio very old AUDIOVOX-Shintom AX-5500, two 150W speakers. As for the cables, it is quite possible that they are too thin (probably about 1mm) to replace with thicker ones and then I will check if the problem repeats itself. Well, and the lighter directly under the box, so that there are no problems (only that the cables from the lamellar fuse are quite thin and I do not know if this may be a problem).
    thanks and best regards

Usually in cars there is a 10A fuse on the cigarette lighter, increase the cross-sections of the wires to a larger one and try it then, maybe the cigarette lighter socket or the plug is bad and makes a short circuit.
