    Welcome!

I think the motor in my old roller shutter (about 10 years old) has unfortunately died. It has a problem lifting the roller shutter the first 10 cm, then it goes on from there. It's a bit strange, because I always thought motors died in zero/one way, but.... Unless anyone has a clue as to why the roller shutter has suddenly stopped raising.

I'm considering Inel and Somfy motors, with a preference for the former due to price. Does Inel make good and reliable stuff?

How do I calculate the weight of the roller shutter, more or less (roller shutter approx. 2.2 metres high and approx. 1.5 metres wide, typical domestic)?

I know that the old motor is fi60 for sure, but I don't know anything else about it. What is the risk that a newly purchased motor will not fit into the old mechanism? How do I make sure it will fit mechanically?

Can you do it yourself if you have no experience, or is it better to call someone? Maybe you can recommend someone in the Tri-city area who does not take a lot of money for such a replacement?

    Thanks for your answers.
