Hello. Can talcum powder be replaced with potato flour?
I've seen such a patent before.
How do we have tube tires, e.g. on a quad bike or motorcycle, and we do not have talcum powder,
in such a situation, we can sprinkle the new inner tubes with potato flour in order to protect the inner tube from rubbing and sticking to the tire?
Will potato flour reduce friction? What can be a substitute for talc when we don't have it?

No, the flour has sticky properties, you can get talcum powder in every pharmacy for a few zlotys, do not combine it with flour, because you will destroy the inner tube and tire!

Firstly, it does not have the properties of talc, secondly, it is organic. In other words, you'll have a new life in the inner tube and tire. A characteristic odor during the trip, after some time, is also possible.

It is such a patent as replacing it with butter.

It's Christmas holidays. Schools are closed. The sources of free chalk are dry ... :)
And you have to go to the pharmacy ... pay ... The flour is closer. ;)

OK, but substitutes are used when the original is poorly available and / or expensive.
Here we are dealing with "combining the horse up the hill" ;)

It's not the horses that do that, but the mare.

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the feasibility of using potato flour as a substitute for talcum powder in tube tires for vehicles like quad bikes and motorcycles. Several participants argue against this substitution, highlighting that potato flour has sticky properties that could damage the inner tube and tire, unlike talc, which is specifically designed to reduce friction. Concerns are raised about the organic nature of potato flour potentially causing odor and other issues. The conversation also touches on the availability of talcum powder, suggesting that it is easily accessible at pharmacies, and questions the necessity of finding a substitute when the original product is readily available.
