When I saw how electrical installations in England are made for the first time, I was shocked :) You connect the red wires together, the two black wires with the blue ones, and the black wires with the brown ones. Before doing so, check the connection in the ankle. Why do you want to change the cube?

I dare to notice that the drawing describes the installation for one normal switch, not for 2 stairs.

The figure shows what it shows and the rest of the connections are made in boxes under the fittings. And the construction of these cans in fittings is always the same. Phase, neutral and return from the circuit breaker / breakers.
