I have a Bosch SMI68M05EU dishwasher (of course after the warranty). Recently, the E24 error appeared on the dishwasher, and the water tap is on. The error occurs approximately 2 minutes after starting the dishwasher. You can hear something going on in the dishwasher. Sometimes turning off and on helped and it worked. Of course, all filters are cleaned, the drain checked if the drain is not blocked, the water pump turns freely, the drain hose is ok, water connection is ok, the filter is also cleaned.

Now the error started to show up very often, but as I read somewhere on the forum, when I start the program and open and close the dishwasher, it will start, and in fact such a mouse works, the dishwasher is washing. I found similar problems on the forum and it is talking about replacing the pump, but it is surprising that in my case opening and closing the dishwasher makes it work properly. I am asking for help, because it may be possible to do without drastic and costly operations, and I will be able to do the repair / adjustment myself.

Well, unsatisfying information. Could I know the estimated cost of the pump? Can I buy and replace it myself? I have already repaired the pump in the washing machine and it still works, maybe I could do it myself.

Maybe just the pump propeller blocked? e.g. with a match
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjZZPISpq2U

Pull out all the strainers, unscrew the propeller cover, clean everything, unscrew the left cover (2 screws) and see if the feed system is delivering water as the dishwasher starts.
Closing and opening the door and operating it looks like it's kind of clogged.

And if you want to buy:

    on German ebay 15 euros.

    The exchange is simple

    1.unscrew the front plinth
    2. Press out the latch

    Hello,
I have a BOSCH SMI68M05EU dishwasher and I struggle with a similar problem.
After switching on the dishwasher "purrs by default" it takes several dozen seconds and instead of drawing water, you can only hear the hum of the pump. However, after approx. 2 minutes, the tap indicator and error e: 24 appear on the display. The error does not occur every time you start it - the dishwasher can perform three washes in a row and it's okay, the next day the light comes on immediately and even restarting does not help.
I checked the water supply, the aqua stop and the electrical connector, whether the tap is turned on, I have prevented the drainage siphon, the water inlet pipe is not bent, the water is medium hard and I don't think there will be any stone or anything in four years.
sometimes tilting the dishwasher forwards helps, sometimes not. I looked through the filters and the cleanliness of the drain pump (I think that's what the hole in the dishwasher floor is called) - no seeds, coffee grounds etc.
The repairman - first stated that there was something physically in the pump that was pulling water or there was a leak. Neither one nor the other. The pump is said to be a bit rickety, but there is nothing "sitting" there, there is also no leakage. The Lord didn't give me any advice, but it seems He really didn't know how to help me. The pump quotes the Lord "sometimes it floods the entire disc, and sometimes only half of it" - as I understood the former is desirable, and the latter manifests itself in the form of e: 24.
Has anyone had similar troubles? Any idea - before calling Bosch service, who will call me for a few hundred bucks?
    greetings
    Asia

Well, now we know what and how - unfortunately.

In my humble opinion: E24 -> 100% heating and circulation pump.
In German forums it is said that this is planned aging ;-) , a very common problem of these pumps (bosch, siemens, neff wsjo fish)
The pump is raining (you write that it will do ~ 3 washes), although you can see nothing wrong with it, perhaps it is raining under the influence of a granular cleaning agent.

To make matters worse: 2nd generation pumps have appeared
    This pump is here
    http://www.mmsb-gmbh.de/teile-fuer-spuelmasch...aschine-von-gaggenau-neff-constructa/a-12464/
    (fits 100% into your dishwasher)
and they cannot be "simply replaced", you have to change the wiring according to the instructions attached to the pump.
For a guy with a bit of a DIY clue, this shouldn't be a problem. For a woman 99% - not to do alone. Turn the dishwasher on its back, pull the whole down, replace the pump and change the cables according to the diagram.

I would not buy a used 1st generation pump (then you do not need to change the cables) - it will go for half a year and it will be the same.

So you have a dilemma ...

PS It looks even better in deutschelan:
    - arrival of a Bosch technician 90 EUR (payable immediately - he has not lifted his finger yet, but read the display)
    - question: do we replace the pump? pump: EUR 140, my work: EUR 200
    - (the client calculates in his mind)
    - service technician: better buy a new one, goodbye
    :-D

    EDITION:
you can buy such a pump on aledrogo
    http://allegro.pl/okazja-pompa-myjaca-do-zmywarki-bosch-siemens-i4559644407.html
    PLN 290

rather, you will not change it yourself - as I wrote. A skilled person should deal with this 1-1.5 hours.

Here is how it is mentioned
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsjE7CTwUIk

admittedly there is old generation popMPa in the video, you can only imagine what needs to be done.

After analyzing the operation of the dishwasher, I conclude that:

    Error E24
After the obvious cases, such as clogging of the drain hose, blockage of the drain in the dishwasher tub under the filter or clogging of the filter.
I suggest checking if there is voltage to the solenoid valve on the water jacket at the bottom of the chamber, because it corrodes the pin inside and blocking it does not open the water supply to the chamber.
Water at the beginning of washing is taken from this jacket for initial washing, so tap water is not taken at this stage (the jacket is refilled when drained in the final phase of rinsing)
If there is no voltage on this solenoid valve, the problem is in the wash pump.
At the beginning of the program, the dishwasher drains the water with one pump, and with the other washing pump it checks that the water has been drained. Lack of water low load is OK can add water to the chamber.
High engine load thinks that there is water and tries to drain it again, if it fails, E24 does not allow new water to be poured, so as not to spill the washing chamber on the floor.
High power consumption means that the pump may be blocked with something from washing or after several years of use it has seized bearings.
    Pump to be replaced.

You can cheat the electronics if the pump is damaged, all you need to do is start the program and select the water, when the washing pump is already starting, open the dishwasher door for a moment.
The program continues without displaying the E24 error.

As for the replacement of the pump, it is not necessary to disassemble the entire dishwasher and the bottom.
    - turn off the water from the dishwasher and disconnect it from the power supply.
    - we choose the remnants of water from the bottom of the filter and the dishwasher pump, e.g. with a syringe
    - Take off the right side
    - take out the electronics
    - disconnect the wires from the pump heater and pump motor
    - release the rubber catch on the engine
    - release the four catches at the engine and take the entire engine with the rotor out of the pump housing.

The heater with the housing remains in the dishwasher.
The entire replacement operation takes about 30-40 minutes

The problem with the pump was worn bearings in the washer pump.
The bearings are made of graphite as slide bearings and were so worn that they made a 2mm larger ovoid, causing the rotor to rub against the housing.
In addition, the rotor axle was also worn out, changing the size by -0.5mm
I have not yet thanked the pump because of the costs.
I dug two 10mm slip rings from the old motor and added these sleeves to the rotor by hand using a screwdriver and a dremel, smoothing with 2000 grit sandpaper.
On the one hand, I ground the rotor from 5mm to 4mm because that was the damaged axle and I made a bearing with a 4mm hole
On the other hand, there is a thread for the pump blades, so there is no big room for maneuver when it comes to changing the dimensions, I just smoothed out larger irregularities and the impeller has a 5mm bearing.
As a result, the pump is working so far, you can not hear how it works and it is much quieter than before disassembling, there is no error E24
The question is how long it will work.

In my case it is a Bosch SMS69M02EU dishwasher but the engine is almost identical to the post https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic2715251.html I will use the photos from this post The difference is in the rotor here in a metal housing http: // Obrazki.elektroda.pl/6047942200_1388689536_thumb.jpg I had a rotor flooded with plastic
The rotor is hard to remove from the housing, I managed to unscrew the turbine (damaged here) https://obrazki.elektroda.pl/8142168900_1388689353_thumb.jpg using a neodymium magnet (from the old hard disk) by applying to the side of the engine housing and turning the turbine (NOTE LEFT THREAD ), then undermine the lid https://obrazki.elektroda.pl/5938668600_1388689531_thumb.jpg using a small screwdriver (a bit different in my case) we get to the rotor. Axle and bushings are worn. 32 per inch LEFT and we make from an acid rod fi5, the thread I used a lathe, you can die M5 LEFT, the thread is a bit different but it will not prevent screwing into a plastic turbine, I made a M5 hole from Teflon with graphite. For me it's nice no error E24 The cost in my case is a bit of stress and a quarter for a turner or about 100 for a turner

OKI Your Advice - PRICELESS !!! Pressure pump replaced and as he took it off !!!
    I had errors e15 e24 e25
    - cleaned the float in the water jacket (tedious fun)
    - I replaced the corroded valve core and the coil in the salt tank (first from the left under the water jacket) === THESE ACTIVITIES DIDN'T HELP, but they certainly did not hurt!
this is my first dishwasher, or rather problems, and I have never delved into the principle of operation, learning about the principle of operation of the devices, makes diagnosis and repair much easier.

Maciejwojtan asked a question, because I was also thinking about adding a rotor axle, but I was afraid to knock it out.
I sold her a hammer blow but she did not even move (I measured it with a caliper) and I was afraid to apply it so that I would not be left without anything.
In your pump, is this axle also embedded in a magnet flooded with plastic on the top and has a porcelain plate on the forehead?

A magnet flooded with plastic, for me the oska was quite easy, a press would be better for that. This porcelain was in a rubber seal for me, I gently took out the porcelain and the seal (which I have no idea). , my friend says there is a risk, it is fun and I assume that you cannot spoil the broken one. :D

I have a delicate 40 ton in the press, but I do not know if this rotor will leave anything behind when I put such pressure on it. The bearings in the car hubs just shoot when taken out :)

As for this axle, I gave it sensitively with 3 hammers, but it did not even twitch (I measured with a caliper from the magnet to the end of the axle to set it again in the same place)

As for porcelain, it seems to me to reduce the friction on this graphite bearing on the rotor side.

In my case, the e24 was caused by the scaling of the drain pipe (corrugated) by the scale from the washing-up tablets. Hitting the floor with a sash 30 times cured the dishwasher. bosch sms58m38eu / 23
