I have a refrigerator to transport. Unfortunately, I do not have stand-up transport, so I have to transport it on the side. I read that you can transport her on the side. Unfortunately, I am not able to determine which one.
Refrigerator data. I know that this is a relatively old AMICA refrigerator. However, I have a photo of its back, where the generator is located.
In the photo I put the letters L and P denoting the sides of the refrigerator, looking from the back.

Take it on the side marked in the photo L. Wait about 3 hours after placing it in a new place.

The tubes are directed to the back of the refrigerator unit, it will be safest to put it on the door and then nothing will happen, because no oil should get into any of them, unless you break the engine mounting inside the compressor from "perfectly equal Polish roads ".

And by the way, it might help ;)

So if I understood correctly, I can pack it on the left side (looking from the back) or put it on the door. Are both options reasonably safe? Maybe one is better after all?
As for the links, I have already familiarized myself with the topics, but I have no experience in this type of transport (it must always be the first time), so I preferred to ask more experienced people.
Thank you for your interest in the topic.

I also think there is a suction tube on the "L" side.
Do not put on the pressure side so that the oil does not clog the evaporator capillary.

From the photographer's perspective, it is best to place it on the left side.

Gentlemen, but when I was transporting refrigerators, various freezers, I never thought about putting it on the right side, I put it as it came in and always if they were operational, they would run and cool well.

    You were lucky.
From what a friend of mine and producers of refrigerators and freezers explained to me, there is oil in the compressor of refrigerators, which, by placing the refrigerator on the wrong side, can get into the pipes with the refrigerant and plug them. Therefore, you have to look at which side you put the refrigerator. Ps. The warranty on refrigeration appliances also mentions this and if we damage a refrigerator or other refrigeration appliance in this way, they simply will not take it into account and we will have to repair it at our own cost.

    Good morning everyone!
Forgive me for digging up the old topic, but I don't see the point in starting a new one.

Please advise on which side it is better to transport the refrigerator. In my opinion, looking at the photo, it is on the one marked 'L'? AMICA Refrigerator Transport: Which Side to Lay Down When Moving? The capped tube should be at the top?

I will be grateful for your help!

Topic summary

Transporting a refrigerator horizontally requires careful consideration of which side to place it on to avoid damaging the compressor and refrigerant system. Users recommend placing the refrigerator on the left side (marked 'L' in the provided images) to prevent oil from entering the refrigerant lines. It is advised to wait approximately three hours after transport before plugging it in to allow any displaced oil to settle. Some users noted that placing it on the door is also a viable option. However, caution is emphasized regarding the potential for oil clogging the evaporator if the refrigerator is placed on the wrong side. Overall, the consensus is to prioritize the left side for safe transport.
