Hello, I would like to use a system in my house in the hallway that when I click the switch I turn on the light in the p.room and turn it off (bistable relay 1). When I leave the house, I click the switch twice and it switches off the light in the whole house (bistable relay 2). When I return home and flick the switch once, I switch on the light in the front room and the other lights that were switched on earlier (two-way relay 1 and 2 are switched on). The use of only two two-way relays has the disadvantage that if you switch off the light when leaving the house and then come back and it is already daytime, the light which was switched on earlier, e.g. in the kitchen and in the front room, is switched on. This is a bit pointless.
You could use a bistable relay for each light and then programme the controller so that one click switches on only the light in the front room and two clicks switch everything off. Then clicking once only turns on the light in the p.room.
Using so many bistable relays and a controller such as logo or easy is quite an expensive solution and maybe there is a more simple solution you could suggest. I am ahead of a refurbishment and am looking for some sort of sensible solution.

Have you thought about the sense of such a solution. Why make it so complicated. Maybe a presence sensor, twilight sensor, clock and a few other dependencies. Someone not familiar with the system will be dumbfounded, not to mention the failure of the system /which happens/?

You may be right, but imagine that from anywhere in the house you are able to switch off lights throughout the house (if you use bist. relays for all lighting) or by clicking three times you switch on e.g. kitchen, wardrobe etc.
A cool feature in my opinion, but thanks for the reply.

Thank you for your reply. I don't really understand where such a sequence switch is applicable.

    Hello,
i was actually a bit hasty with my reply - without thinking the whole thing through...hehe.
The function of the bistable relay can be programmed (implemented) in the controller. It is also possible to interact with different parts of the program (simulating several "bistable relays") through one "click" or several "clicks".
To summarise - a PLC with relay outputs is sufficient to control several/many light sources or other circuits, e.g. sockets - without the development of physical bistable relays.
