There are no side turn signals on my GT golf, only the GT badge. I heard that the car must have side blinkers or it will not pass the inspection. I have a review in a month and therefore I have a request if someone could explain to me how it really is with these blinkers. Do they have to be? When I bought this golf, it was already inspected, registered and the owner said that there was nothing like that during the inspection. And if there must already be a side indicator, can it be attached to the mirrors or to the side of the bumper? Thanks.

So why when I did a review in my golf in July last year, when I brought it, nobody added to me that I do not have side directions? were mandatory.

I confirm with this hook. If you have a hook in your ID card, side directions are mandatory. If you have any doubts or queries, contact the diagnostic station and ask before the inspection.

There is no obligation to install side turn signals if they were not fitted as standard in the car. The regulations make it compulsory to fit a rear fog light, and there is no mention of directions.
No diagnostician will cause problems since they were not there before (it would be different if they were out of order and were installed).
    Regards.

Alternatively, if you have a hook, they can be on the mirrors, there is no problem with that in my omega, I put the hook on and went to the inspection and the diagnostician told me that I had to have side directions, I put them on the mirrors and everything was ok.

    Heh!
And there are front directions that extend so far over the fenders that they have two approvals: front and side! But if you go to the SKP and ask, then obviously on the lowest resistance line: there is a hook - they must be sideways! And nobody bothers themselves - bureaucracy and demonstrating your diagnostic power is essential!

Vilswagens, these poorer versions did not have indicators on the side, even passats until 1993 did not have all. If you did not have, you do not have to do it, it is exactly like the seat belts on the back seat, if they are not installed in the factory, the owner does not have to put them on either.

Side directions are obligatory (in Poland) if a hook is installed, if you don't have one, you have nothing to worry about. I don't have a hook and side directions and in 5 years no one even mentioned them.

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the requirement for side turn signals on the GT Golf, particularly in relation to vehicle inspections. It is clarified that side indicators are mandatory only if the vehicle is equipped with a towing hook. If the car was not originally fitted with side turn signals, they are not required for inspection. Several participants confirm that if the manufacturer did not install them, the owner is not obligated to add them unless a towing hook is present. In such cases, side indicators can be mounted on the mirrors. The conversation references legal regulations and personal experiences regarding inspections and modifications.
