Hello, my grandmother has a Beretta stove. The battery was replaced, but it didn`t help. The gas furnace produces sparks all the time. There is no gas coming, so there is something wrong with the electricity. I checked the solenoid valves by putting minus on the housing and plus by touching the valves - both open properly. The room was ventilated. My guess is the magneto. There is a microswitch or two next to the magneto cables - could it also have something to do with this problem? Of course, when I opened the solenoid valve with the battery, the gas escaped.

Maybe there is simply not enough oxygen in the room. Ventilation is not the same as the right amount of air supply. If there is a spark and you can smell the gas

You can only feel the gas when you open the solenoid valve using the battery

So the gas escapes and there is no spark when you open, for example, a hot water tap or a gas valve?

I turn on the hot water, there is no gas, only a spark. There is gas only when you open the solenoid, battery R 20, touching the plus to the solenoid valve and the minus to the housing

What pressure does the stove give?

Oh, I have no idea. There are no markings on it. I know that my grandfather had a problem with starting it for some time, but I know that he started it with a match, and then someone came from the service center and pointed it at the magneto, and then I couldn`t even start it with a match (meaning the solenoid valve wasn`t letting the gas through).

simple, when you apply voltage from another source, the gas opens, which means that the controller does not provide voltage, so it is the culprit.

Could it be a microswitch located on the controller cables?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Beretta gas stove experiencing ignition issues, where a spark is present but no gas flows. The user replaced the battery without resolving the issue and noted that the gas only escapes when the solenoid valve is manually opened using a battery. Responses suggest checking for adequate oxygen supply, the pressure of the stove, and potential faults in the controller or microswitches associated with the magneto. The user recalls a previous service intervention that involved the magneto, indicating a possible connection to the current problem.
