Hello, this morning I had an unpleasant surprise. Unfortunately, in my golf, the ABS and ESP indicators lit up and do not go out while driving. This never happened to me. After connecting to the computer, it showed, among other things, the following message: "Air control solenoid in the intake manifold, open circuit, short circuit to ground". Has anyone had such a problem with their golf?

    Regards

The fire damper that closes the intake manifold when the engine is turned off.
Fix the circuit, also check the flap.
Read the errors from the ABS controller, because this flap does not have any effect on the ABS.

I read somewhere that dirty sensors can also turn on these controls. I was at the car wash, unfortunately, I live in the city and I am not able to remove the wheels and clean it thoroughly - the car is clean, but the controls continue to burn. Tomorrow I will have access to the computer so I will find out what the ABS error codes are. When pressing the brake pedal, you can hear such a sound of air - it seems to me that it was not there before, maybe it was also a hint, the ESP button does not respond to pressing it, it should change its red color to orange, I can click it at will and he will anyway stays in red, i.e. the standard color. Stupid question, but could it be the button's fault? Yesterday I went a little too crazy and turned off ESP quite "hard" I started and after a while I parked in peace and turned off the car, no lights were on, but in the morning ABS and ESP: / so now I feel guilty, hehe, first and last time ...

Also check the two 30A fuses (green) on the battery casing. Even if they are good, take them out and clean them, they like to tarnish and miracles happen with ABS.
    Leave the button alone.

Tomorrow I will check and write error codes as well :) Have a good night :)

    ------------

After connecting to the computer everything is clear, the right front ABS sensor needs to be replaced

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Golf 4 1.9TDI experiencing persistent ABS and ESP indicator lights. The user reported an error related to the intake manifold air control solenoid, indicating an open circuit or short circuit to ground. Responses suggest checking the ABS error codes, inspecting wheel sensors, and cleaning the two 30A fuses on the battery casing, as dirty sensors can trigger the warning lights. The user later confirmed that the right front ABS sensor needs replacement after further diagnostics.
