Hello. I have a Golf 4 1.9 tdi. When I pass a few meters, the indicator lights up with an exclamation mark in red (!), Squeaks 3 times and then only flashes. I have a good level of brake fluid, I have new brake pads. I have a separate control (p) from the handbrake. I will add that I am stuck with ABS - can it affect something with Abs or something else? GREETINGS.

Of course. After exceeding the speed of 20 km / h, the car reports an ABS system error. Bring the system to order and everything will be back to normal.

I had a similar solution, the prosaic solution, the old fuse had a weak contact, I replaced it with a new one and it still works today.

There may be a problem with the module supply and maybe with communication with one or several wheel speed sensors.

Are you referring to these three 30A guns on the battery?

Check the oil. Level and when to exchange.

The oil in the engine has nothing to do with the brake system, and this indicator suggests something just with the brake system.

And what a problem to do diagnostics, and do not guess the guesses.

Why these combinations. Make the order with ABS. You can connect under the computer so that you do not look in the dark, which element does the problem.

Check not only the fuses on the battery but the box itself - often contacts are burning

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a red exclamation mark indicator issue in a VW Golf 4 1.9 TDI, which activates after driving a short distance, accompanied by three beeps and then flashing. The user has confirmed adequate brake fluid levels and new brake pads, while also mentioning a separate handbrake control. Responses suggest that the problem may be linked to the ABS system, with recommendations to check for ABS errors, inspect fuses for weak contacts, and ensure proper communication with wheel speed sensors. Diagnostics are advised to pinpoint the exact issue, as the indicator is primarily related to the brake system.
