Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to manually move the seat forward and backward if the motor is not running. The armchair tilts and rises but I do not want the front to back and I have it on the right and left armchair anyway. Is it possible to manually move it because the wife sitting in the back with the child has there is not much space and he constantly complains that I put some in. My car is a Citroen C5 station wagon 2002. 2.0

Only seat repair or replacement with one without electric adjustment.

Remove the seat, unscrew the motor and manually turn the gears to move it to the right position. Reassemble the seat. Before reassembling, consider whether it is not better to buy a new motor right away and install it. All in all, think before disassembling the seat. Unless you don't ever want to move it again, though somehow I don't see it in the long run.

First, check if the motor or control is damaged. Disconnect the wires from the motor and power it from the battery.

Interesting advice, it's like when the window lift fails "take and turn the gears", I would like to see you in this action.
If you want to move the backrest, you dismantle the stator (housing with magnets) and turn the rotor pushing it all the time (worm gear).
Another piece of advice - if the engine and transmission are in good working order, you can make a control system on two relays yourself.

At the beginning, follow the advice of Zbigniew 400.

I once faced such a problem and decided to buy a second motor before disassembling the seat. Of course, it's worth checking if the control works. Did the seats fall at the same time? Did you just have one once but you didn't fix it and now you have two to fix?

I bought these and did not check the front, back, only tilt and up and down

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the possibility of manually adjusting the electric seat of a 2002 Citroen C5 station wagon when the motor is non-functional. Responses suggest that complete seat removal may be necessary to access and manually turn the motor gears for adjustment. Some participants recommend checking the motor and control system for damage before disassembly, while others advise considering the purchase of a new motor if repairs are needed. The conversation highlights the complexity of manually operating electric seat mechanisms and the potential for DIY solutions using relays if the motor and transmission are intact.
