    Hello,
I bought a migomat magnum mig 208 mma and I have a question about connecting the cables:
    1) during MIG/mag welding, the cable that "comes out" from the welding machine should be connected to a socket with a negative or positive pole, according to the post from the website: https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3232663.html#16055401 "In the method MAG, we connect the positive pole to the material to be welded and the negative pole to the wire, hence we have negative meter readings when minus is applied to the electrode or wire. He understands it well. what if it is connected the other way around? :)
    2) during MMA welding, should the electrode be connected to the positive or negative pole? according to the post from the above-mentioned topic "E.g. during MMA welding, we apply the pole to the electrode clearly specified on the electrode packaging. Please remember that the positive pole is heated more than the negative one and we most often connect it to the material to be welded. Most often, it does not always mean what I have already written." that the minus should be on the electrode.

Thank you and best regards :)

I don`t weld with this method, but I will try to help.
The MIG-MAG method uses a current of positive polarity, i.e. the positive pole to the handle and the negative pole to ground. So you connect the ground to - and the loose wire to the + socket. In the case of a self-shielding wire, on the contrary, negative polarity is most often used, i.e. the negative pole for the handle and the + pole for the ground.
As for polarity for MMA, follow the electrode manufacturer`s recommendations.
