    Hello
I have a network, there is a workgroup on the network, there are Win 7 and Win XP computers in the work group.
I connected the new station to the network.
The new station has windows 7, the computer is on the network and in the workgroup sees other and their shared resources.
I share D partitions with all users, then map the disk.
Other computers can see the drive and disk, but unfortunately after entering the shared resources info about lack of permissions pops up.
Workstation service is enabled, server service enabled, network set as home, password protected sharing disabled.
    Unfortunately, nothing helps.
On the second Windows 7 I noticed a strange situation, the computer is at the same time in the workgroup and homegroup, but what the author meant is I have no idea and the password can not be displayed because the display or print option is unavailable (in gray and cannot be clicked) .
Unfortunately, I have no more ideas.

It's probably about file / directory access permissions.

When you click PPM on the file / directory name, there you have the Security tab - write what is set in the running machines and set the same here.

All computers can see it, but after clicking on shared resources, I get information about too low permissions.

When it comes to security, it is the same but, unfortunately, to no avail

    What is the same

Check on other computers where it is ok and give the same user rights to the new machine - it will not automatically copy and run.

Of course, the new machine has the same workgroup name as other machines?

    I know it won't do.
They are assigned identically, but it doesn't work anyway.
And as I mentioned it is in the same working group.

Topic summary

A user is experiencing access issues with a shared drive on a Windows 7 workstation within a workgroup that includes Windows XP machines. Although the new Windows 7 computer can see the shared resources, it encounters permission errors when attempting to access them. The user has confirmed that the workstation and server services are enabled, the network is set to home, and password-protected sharing is disabled. Despite ensuring identical user rights across machines and confirming the workgroup name matches, the problem persists. Suggestions from other users include checking file/directory access permissions and ensuring the guest account is enabled on Windows 7.
