Hello. I am going to buy a Volvo V50 in gasoline. Only I do not know which engine to choose? I'm hunting for version 2.4, but it's hard to get it, 1.8 goes away, because apparently it has a 2-mas.
How about the rest, or 1.6 or 2.0, also have some surprises from diesel? What should you choose in the alternative to 2.4?

I am afraid of my friend that each of them will be two years old, in diesel certainly.
With Diesel version 1.6, let it go. Although the thrifty engine often shows its bad side.
I have been driving a 2-liter S40 for the last 5 years, the same engine as the V50 and I can not complain. Although if I chose it today, I would look for 2.4 D4 or D5. With a little more combustion, more power.
The engine does not have any problems. Sometimes there are any problems with the accessories.
A typical fault is the falling alternator with a course of about 140,000. Sometimes something can not connect at the contacts.
As for the twenties, the costs are not that big.

Peasant 2 mas is a picnic with his propensity to swallow oil.

And when you buy the V50 you have to be prepared for expenses and I'm not talking about 1000 PLN here. it's not cinquecento.

D5 are much more expensive to buy but also durable as it is serviced wisely.

Well, I have diesel 1.6 and I want to convert it into petrol and certainly v50 because the very cool model is only nowhere to find specific opinions about 1.6 and 2.0, everyone recommends 2.4 because it fits under gas and that's all I know. On the other hand, a friend on 1.8 and is chasing me on the number of visits on the site. eh life :-)

2.0d is a good engine. Service 3 such. For the course of 300,000. fewer problems with him than other diesels from this period. At 200,000, it can start to seal the shaft or shaft shaft seal. Dwumasa will boldly stand 300,000, although he may know about himself earlier. The replacement of the order for 240 thousand ... I would say that in the "popular" category, after the classic fiat class, it is the most successful diesel of the last decade.
