In the days I will become a father and I am looking for an IP camera to monitor a child in a crib, but not only.
I decided to buy a WiFi IP camera because of the greater possibilities than in the case of electronic nannies. In addition, later I will be able to install the webcam in the apartment for monitoring.
    Camera requirements:
    - minimum resolution 1280x720 (1Mpx)
    - PTZ but not necessarily
    - IR illumination (night monitoring)
    - the ability to preview on android phones
    - a microphone or a loudspeaker
    - WiFi
    - internal memory for recording recordings
    - the possibility of full configuration through the browser and phone
    Budget up to PLN 500

I looked through a lot, read a lot of tests and initially decided on Foscam FI9821P. I also like the D-link webcams (mainly their software) but for this price I will only get a resolution of 640x480.

Can you advise something? I have heard that there are problems with the operation of the Foscam application on android phones, and I will need a permanent and reliable preview.
I am asking for feedback and help in choosing the webcam.

For 500 PLN you have a lot of choice. I use a Chinese camera for some $ 25 I bought from three years ago. It has everything you need except a microphone, but you can buy it with a microphone. I use the first better IP CAM Viewer program for viewing. This is what an IP camera is for to have a preview of the IP and not just for any software provided by the manufacturer.

    Good day.
I bought and here the title of the current auction:
CKI ORCA HD P2P IP CAMERA 720p IR ONVIF WiFi
I mounted above the cot and it works well.
    - minimum resolution 1280x720 (1Mpx) - YES
    - PTZ but not necessarily - probably YES, because I do not use.
    - IR illumination (night monitoring) - YES, I use it, it is enough to observe the situation in the crib.
    - the ability to preview on phones with android - YES, the application of the manufacturer, I do not really use,
    - microphone or speaker - YES, both gadgets work rather poorly
(we also use a portable nanny, with the possibility of rechargeable battery, only sound, from IKEA).
    - WiFi - YES, 2.4GHz, ETH is also.
    - internal memory for recording recordings - microSD slot
    - the possibility of full configuration by browser and phone - YES, I use ONIVF Manager.
    - Budget up to 500 PLN or 500+ ;-)

Tez has a plan to use it for other purposes.
Has two pairs of contacts to use.

    Good luck,
    and let him hide healthfully.
    in the meantime, e2e4.

in fact this webcam has almost identical functions as Foscam FI9821P. However, it can be sought for a cheaper alternative, it's all Chinese :)

Unfortunately, the 500+ program does not cover me :)

I will also add NC450 from TP-linka - link - he works in the cloud so he only needs internet access.

Eventually, I changed my approach a bit. I decided that I did not need PTZ, write to a memory card and other goodies. If I want to use the camera to monitor the apartment, I will buy another one :)
The camera will be used for remote viewing and recording is not necessary at all. I have an unused 7-inch tablemat that will be perfect as a display for this camera and the floor will be live all the time. I decided on the TP-LINK NC250 is only 20 PLN more expensive than NC230 the difference is only in the transfer from 150Mbps to 300Mbps. I do not know if I will use this difference at all, but for PLN 20 I did not want to risk that I would complain about the purchase. The camera has the most important features that I was looking for: 1280x720 resolution, night recording (IR diodes), application for phone and computer, and that's enough for me. Few times it happens to me that I am much below the budget, I planned to spend PLN 500 and spend 250 :) It is almost always the case that when I set a budget, I would squeeze it to the max or even exceed this time it won sense :)

I am just before buying a "nanny". Does the solution with the IP camera allow you to wake up the phone? My point is that you do not have to have a phone / smartphone with a preview and voice all the time. Are there applications that run in the background? So that the phone is normally blanked at night, and when the child wakes up / cries, then the application has awakened the phone and the same us?

Choosing a WiFi IP Camera for Baby Monitoring: Resolution, PTZ, IR, Android Compatibility Personally, I use http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-c15-5561.html
Preview on the Tablet in the bedroom and on the old phone in the living room :P
The card sits in the webcam (sometimes a really cool, playful little antics can be recorded :)
    A cool souvenir
Mega plus: stand, 3 wristbands and the webcam keeps without any drilling :)

Nanny is best separate (wife will run with a tablet in the hands of ??) not practical

You do not hang around, you do not worry if it will work or not tonight.
A solid construction has fallen to the ground more than once.

Ok. But I mean a solution with wifi. So that you could go eg to a neighbor or on holiday to go out to the lake where the radio nanny's range may not be enough. I do not care (and even this is undesirable) to have a permanent preview on the tablet. I would like the application to wake up the phone in situations when the child wakes up.

The webcam has wifi. You connect with the router (you start P2P-chumara) and you have audio preview -> (bidirectional). You even watch in Japan :)
With this firing the app will be a problem

so I look at these webcams and many of them have a push option when motion is detected. And I am looking for one that will have such a "push" option when it detects sound.
Unfortunately, for now, I could not find an application that would satisfy our needs (there are cameras, applications that send an e-mail when the sound was detected, but I do not want to check if the child is not aware of every e-mail notification) wybudziło). I just think that it would have to be a GSM camera that just rings when it detects sound, but it's probably more expensive solutions?

So let's just let go and we bought a regular nanny and now we want to buy an ordinary camera for a small amount of money.

I have tracked a few but now I wonder how these cameras connect to the receiver (eg smartphone).
    1. Please, make sure that at home you can connect to the home WiFi network and thus either connect directly to the WiFi network or without internet?

    2. And the second question, if we are going on vacation and
    a) there is no internet at all - the only chance to use the webcam is to make a WiFi router from any phone?
    b) if there is a wireless network in the facility, you can easily connect it with the IP camera?

    Added after 42 [minutes]:

I have pre-selected the following webcams:

    http://allegro.pl/kamera-hd-ip-xblitz-isee-wifi-obrotowa-niania-wawa-i6123769712.html

do they differ from design something specific?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around selecting a WiFi IP camera for baby monitoring, focusing on features such as resolution, PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom), IR illumination for night monitoring, Android compatibility, and budget constraints. Users recommend various models, highlighting the importance of resolution (minimum 1280x720), microphone and speaker functionality, WiFi connectivity, and internal memory for recording. The Foscam FI9821P was initially considered, but alternatives like the CKI ORCA HD, TP-Link NC450, and NC250 were suggested for their similar features and better performance. Concerns about app functionality on Android devices and the need for sound detection capabilities were also discussed, with some users opting for traditional baby monitors instead.
