Hello, I have a Media-Tech MT 4169 video graber, I use Debut Video Capture Software for image capture. I have a question, is it possible to improve the quality of the recording in some program, my point is that (as you can see in the photo, you can see the actress's arm), jagged contours of the figure are visible, can it be eliminated?

The first thing that catches your eye are the many horizontal black lines.
It may be the fault of the VCR - worn head or the cassette itself is in such a bad condition.
I propose to play this cassette on other working equipment and compare it with my own.
If the cassette is in such a bad condition, there is not much to improve it at home.

I am sorry because I forgot to write, the black lines do not come from the VCR but from the recording of the image source, i.e. from the analog satellite (long ago, when digital decoders were new, there were analog satellite decoders and they liked to collect dirt when the signal was weaker), the VCR is in a great condition, and all I did with it was replacing the drive belts because it was not rewinding the cassette to the end.

At one time, "Video signal correctors" were offered, the use of which would help to sharpen or blur the image. There were even diagrams of a simpler version of this type of circuit, but you have to look for it.
PS. the above-mentioned devices were also able to "bypass" Macrovision encoding :)

I once made such a device with probably a new electronics and I will say one thing to blur the signal, they could but sharpen it more, but they did well with coding.

And you know, I don`t know if I have the Jabel J-002 putty, I think I bought it once or assembled it, what can you say about it? (description in the attachment).

Plug in, check and describe your impressions. I see that you can buy these sets until today. :)

Well, unfortunately, it did not help the image as it was, well, there is also a problem, what can cause a decrease in fps recording? For example, when I turn on the browser or do something else, the frame rate drops, I turned off the Internet completely, but the frame level often jumps anyway, it is not the fault of the VCR because it plays the cassette at a constant speed.

And I also wanted to ask which YT upload program do you recommend? I mean, I wanted to put a file weighing over 2GB and I have a weak net, recently I uploaded a 230MB file and it took 2 hours, so I would need a program that can do it in parts, or you can stop and continue after that without losing the previously loaded amount of data, is there such a thing?

And YT gives you the ability to interrupt data transfer at all?

It only seems to me that you will be blown away by such material - copyright.
By posting something on YT, it is no longer permitted domestic use, but public playback.

Well, I wanted to post a prom from 10 years ago, is something like that protected by copyright? After all, the camerawork was done with the participants` consent for later viewing?

I was playing with a USB Grabber which the effects were very poor. Lots of combinations to make me happy with the quality of the material.

Then a TV card in a PC that lost frames terribly.
The last equipment in England I also bought for USB with a cable like in a printer.

It mimicked image and sound very well. The most important thing is to choose a codec. I probably chose MPEG-2, and VHS is DVD v3.0.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around improving the image quality of VHS recordings using the Media-Tech MT 4169 video grabber and Debut Video Capture Software. Users identify issues such as horizontal black lines in the captured video, attributed to the original analog signal rather than the VCR's condition. Suggestions include testing the cassette on different equipment and using video signal correctors to enhance image sharpness. The conversation also touches on frame rate drops during recording and the challenges of uploading large video files to YouTube, with inquiries about suitable software for segmented uploads.
