What program should I use to merge two parts of rar into one file - I tried Total Commander and yes it merges two files - only the original is 3199 files and after merging 1726 - so is the Split & Combine Files program. I noticed that after merging the two files the size is correct. :shocked!:

    Best regards.

OK, I have Winrar what next - no merge archives or similar options - the only option I know is to unpack all files and repack into one file again.

    - suggests that it is one archive in two files - so just unpack it. The program will connect both archives and unpack it by itself. If they are two different archives, each should be unpacked separately ...
Unless you want to merge two separate archives into one - either "Add files to archive" or "Convert archive" or unpack both archives into a folder and pack as one again ...

There is also 7-zip, where is the "Merge files" option.

I found out that no program of this type will merge these files properly because every part has a Rar header!

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges of merging RAR files, specifically when using programs like Total Commander and Split & Combine Files. Users express frustration over the inability to merge files correctly, noting discrepancies in file counts after merging. Suggestions include using WinRAR, which can unpack multi-part archives automatically if they are part of the same archive. However, if the files are separate archives, users are advised to either repack them into one file or use 7-zip, which has a "Merge files" option. A user also points out that no program can merge files properly if each part contains a RAR header, complicating the merging process.
