How can I connect a PS4 and Panasonic TX-32LE8PA TV to a Pioneer VSX-C501-S receiver, and which cables and ports should I use?

Connect the PS4 to the Pioneer receiver with an optical cable to one of the receiver’s optical inputs, and connect the TV to the PS4 via HDMI [#16236181][#16237192] Set the PS4’s audio output to optical and choose Dolby Digital 5.1; also try enabling DTS for games or movies that support it [#16237596] Then select the matching input on the receiver and verify the console’s output settings first [#16237192] Connect the active subwoofer to the receiver’s subwoofer out [#16237596] If the rear speakers do not play, enable them in the receiver’s menu; the speaker test should then work [#16237784]

    Hello.
I have (I think) a Pioneer vsx-c501-s receiver with five speakers and a subwoofer.
I would like to connect everything to a Panasonic TX-32LE8PA TV with a PS4 console.
I don't know which cable to use and which port should I connect it to.

It is, however. You say to connect with an optical cable, but to which port?

To optical port (if tv has one).
And if the tv does not have it, then the optics, including the KD (provided that the KD has an optical port as a signal input).
The tv and KD manuals should explain this.

I do not have instructions for this pioneer and the tv does not have such an input. But how do I connect the ps4 optical cable with this pioneer and the PS4 HDMI cable with the TV, should it work?
In the input selection panel there is an option for DVR / TV and STB (DVD).

The receiver has two optical inputs. So how do you finally have the optical output in Ps4?

Well, you connect the PS to the KD with an optical cable - you configure the console (if necessary), select the appropriate input on the cinema remote control and that's it (you may also need to configure it, but connect and check first).

Everything is connected and only two front speakers work. In the PS4 settings, I set the optical output and Dolby Digital 5.1ch input format. The rest of the speakers do not sound, but they are functional for sure. There is also the question of the buffer that I do not know where to connect.

Throw in the settings also DTS. Launch some DD / DTS enabled game or movie. Are the speakers correctly set on the receiver? You will connect an active subwoofer to the receiver to the subwoofer out.

Now the whole front center speaker and subwoofer are working, but the rear speakers are still not playing.
When I press the test tone on the remote control, the rear does not speak either.

And they are operational, properly connected and KD is operational on these ports?

The rear speakers must be turned on in the receiver's settings. You can check the speakers themselves by connecting them to the front speaker outputs in the receiver.

You can also touch the battery finger - if it enters the loudspeaker, it is ok.

The speakers work, so I have to turn them on from the receiver's menu (I don't know how). And PS4 games support 5.1 (testing the speakers on the witcher 3 and system sounds?

    Added after 29 [minutes]:

It's all clear. I turned on these rear speakers in the receiver's menu.
Thanks to everyone for your help.
