    Hello. Looking for a replacement for 2N2222 transistor, is CTPN 2222 a replacement?

    You can replace, practically the same. Although 2N2222 is generally available.

    The 2N2222 transistor is generally available so it makes no sense to look for a replacement for it. even take the first link from the shore: https://sklep.avt.pl/tranzystor-2n2222.html. The TO-18 housing is also available: https://sklep.avt.pl/tranzystor-2n2222a-si-npn-40v-0-8a-0-5w-to18.html. And as for substitutes, once there were catalogs. If a colleague wants to, then I can look at the catalog for replacements for this transistor.

    Plain BC338 replaces it perfectly.
    Humans, 2N2222 is a 60s transistor, most modern low current bjt has better parameters.

    That is not true!
    In normal use - e.g. low frequency, control in the power supply or as a relay switch, etc. - yes, BC337 etc. will replace it. But 2N2222 is a switch transistor - fast and in this role no BC can replace it. And here the author gave no application, he asks for a full replacement.

    In simple terms, it can be said that everything good at BJT was "invented" in the 1960s (and in the early 1970s) - including 2N2222, 2N2369, 2N3055, 2N2219, BC, BF, BU ... later only the epiplanary technology (processes) was changed and improved, in the 90s special high-current and high-VFEat high-current transistors such as 2SC5706, etc. were developed.
    And therefore

    Maybe it is already a monument, but as you can see it is still available.

    because nothing better in this category has been produced.

    I will agree on this with the trimmer col. 2N2222 is a typical fast overwhelming transistor and it cannot be replaced by ordinary transistors of the BC series. e.g. BC337.

    Yes, nothing better has been invented so far, but as we all know technology is still moving ahead and after some time improved versions of this transistor will probably come out on the market

    As for the transistor catalogs themselves, I recommend reading:

    https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/zamienniki.html
    https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/viewtopic.php?p=3308186#3308186

    So for quickly found in my catalog replacements for 2N2222: BSW61, 2N4014, BSS40, BSS41, BSW64, BSR13

    For the sake of accuracy, I will compare 2N2222 and BC337 here to make it clear:

    2N2222:
    Ucb: 50V
    Ic: 0.8A
    Ptot: 0.5W
    hfe:> 100
    ft:> 250 MHz

    BC337:

    Ubc: 60-75V
    Ic: 0.5A
    Ptot: 0.8W
    hfe: 100-630
    ft: 100 MHz

    As you can see it is not the same

    Maybe now I break the rules and expose myself to these moderators, but I do not agree with the colleague's statement trimmer01. Here are sample links to replacements (with a few exceptions) that I specified in my last post:

    http://allegro.pl/tranzystor-bsw61-bsx-61-1a-70v-npn-to39-i5771761698.html
    http://www.digikey.pl/products/en?keywords=2N4014-ND&cur=USD
    http://inter-chip.pl/bsr13-16831.html

    As for switching times:

    for 2N2222:

    td = 10ns
    tr = 25ns
    ts = 225ns
    tf = 60ns

    In general - it's not true.

    Which is not true, BC107 or Ruthenian KT603 was used instead of 2N2222; in chamber pots ..
    BSXP87 went instead of 2N2906
    Marek, you wonder me ....
