    You cannot legally.
Contact the previous owner and request that the security be removed.
    Otherwise, perhaps only in part.

Why not legally, the phone was bought on a wt mobile subscription in the states.
I have access to the icloud account that was used on this phone.
The phone has been disconnected from icloud, and after restoring factory settings it asks to insert a sim card.

Not so much with the owner as with the current operator, because they take care of removing the sim lock from the phone. They may state the requirements needed to complete this process, or they may simply not agree to remove the lock (depends on the operator). I did it once a few years ago with my friend's iPhone 4 or 4S, he was in some network in the UK, probably in 3 (Three) as I remember correctly.

The sister was with the operator, it would cost $ 250-300, so it's not worth doing it in the salon.
Maybe there are other methods, if not on the forum, please let me know in PW

You need to remove the simlock, look at allegro offers, of course, it costs a lot, but you can do it. Sample auction 6713128101

You can activate it with the operator's mother card and you do not need to unlock it, but of course you won't be able to make calls.
If not in PL, you will definitely buy such a card on ebay.

It all depends on how the subscription was purchased. Whether it was for repayment (with or without a jump) or for cash. Perhaps it is still not paid off and therefore costs so much. If it's paid off or for cash, they should unlock it for free.

Has anyone dealt with these Gevey R-SIM cards? Does it work at all? Because I see a lot of it on auction portals and on professional GSM websites. Except that not all models do, so I'm curious if it works at all. Does anyone have such info?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around unlocking an iPhone 5s that is SIM locked to T-Mobile USA for compatibility with a Polish SIM card. Users suggest that legally removing the SIM lock typically requires contacting the original carrier, which may involve fees ranging from $250 to $300. Alternative methods include using a Gevey R-SIM card, although its effectiveness varies by model. Some users mention that activation can be achieved with the original carrier's SIM card, but this does not allow for calls. The conversation highlights the importance of understanding the terms of the original subscription and the potential costs associated with unlocking.
