forehead all
let's see what we have in this picture ... I guess the author had the intention to show me a magnetic field sensor - this is what I asked in connection with the stream of "good advice and signposts" (colloquially called a magnetometer). A setback again. The selected integrated circuit is not a magnetometer but a compass. Actually, an e-compass from the Japanese Asahi Kasei (It has as much in common with the magnetic field as an iphone with a gps (i.e. nothing, everyone knows this example of creative marketing and ingenuity of engineers). I have already written above about "live" connection to the AKM-Compass compass in field U1901. This is the device (the formal name according to Farnell's catalog is "Asahi Kasei's azimuth sensor No. AK8973"). A well-programmed chip using wifi and bluetooth indicates geographical or magnetic north (theoretical, not measured) In 99.9% of non-scientific cases, such a measurement is sufficient. After all, it is a telephone and not an integrated measurement platform.
I return to important matters -
I was able to determine that the unfortunate level (buble spirit level gauge - for the inquisitive) and the sets of other sensors are actually contained in 3-4 integrated circuits. We're still talking about iP6 and 6+.
I refer to reports from "Designlines MCU neews & analysis - shaping the futures on MEMS 'n sensors" / MEMS- micro-electro-mechanical-sensors / and pre-sales research according to appleinsider.com
Bosch BMA280 - three axial accelerometer with built-in pedometer (charging place -U2205), coupled with a Bosch pressure sensor (charging place U2204) and the above-mentioned AKM-compass (charging place -U1901) and InvenSense MPU-6700 series - six-axis accelerator with gyroscope (place of charging U2203).
Yes, two accelerometers mounted on one plate.
I explain why two-in short, because it's late:
bosch as a device enabling fast start and low consumption of amps - is used by ios when there is no need for full integration of 6-axis measurements, low accuracy is satisfactory - e.g. screen orientation or pedometer.
Invensense, on the other hand, engages the full orientation of six measuring axes at the expense of energy efficiency and high accuracy. It is used in games with position control, VRs etc. My spirit level is a component of this device.
so much for today, best regards
