    Hello

I plan to buy a VW Multivan T5. The model I like has only the engine additional heater and I care about dry parking heater.
    - Please let me know how big the problem is the installation of an original dry parking heater if the car is not equipped with it at the factory.
    - What could the cost be?
    - Maybe some unoriginal universal dry heating system can be installed for all cars?
    - I know that the car factory had a special battery for dry heating, I understand that you need to call the entire installation that will charge the battery while driving?

Maybe someone has already traveled this path. Thank you for all the information.

    Regards

You will probably find everything you need here.

Show what you have there for additional heat. Maybe it's enough to expand it.

I don't know yet what's the additional heater there because I haven't bought the car yet. I wonder whether to look for something with a factory dry webast or have fun editing after buying.

Honestly, I own a car, I repaired the webasto as an additional heater and after 3 repairs I bought a used webasto as a parking with remote control and clock control - at an auction for PLN 300. FULL SET so you know it's risk is fun.

Multiwan T5 - additional heater has CAN control, but if you buy a Telestart T90 controller, it has a W-bus output, which you can use to operate a CAN-controlled oven.

The extension of the additional heater is pointless, you will spend money for nothing, because the t5 has a small battery and after a few hours it sneezes with ignition of the car. I suggest installing the Eberspacher D2 or webasto airtop 2000 and after the problem, the installation is very simple, low fuel consumption and fuel consumption is much smaller than in additional heat

Hello! Colleague -SP7SEC- is a bit right, but only a bit, because the Telestart T90 webasto has the option of the longest sequence of 60 minutes, you can of course repeat it by pressing the button on the remote control once again :) then there may be a situation like mine, that battery, it did to me, towards how I wanted to start the car (I still don't know / I don't penetrate / why Webasto Termo Top E from the so-called secondary market, i.e. added, did not see a voltage drop and they didn't put the stove down ...) .... Airtop 2000 is Mega Zajefajny ..! you set the temperature knob and cool! you have what you want in the cabin: + 18 or + 29 degrees C. Very quickly heats even a large cabin / I installed it myself to Merca with a double cabin for Zakł. Energet / a few minutes and you undress! But the car's engine is still cold ... So, if you know or anticipate how to use your car, you have to choose what you want if you want to sleep in the car - definitely Airtop if you want the engine and interior of the cabin to be warm when you get into it, calmly expand the additional heater for parking heating, I made this solution myself and I am happy, I get up in the morning, I drag my old pants, I look at my watch: oh, start in work in 30 minutes, so I turn on the remote Webasto / range in a fairly straightforward area of about 800 m. / When I get into the car, I have hot water in the engine, the windows have no frost, the inside is warm so I'm going! Now the user has to decide what to choose, Airtop has the disadvantage that it takes a little space in the cabin .... the stove itself and the distribution of pipes with a diameter of probably 60mm ... I do not remember, but as if I can mount it .. :) pzdr

Thank you for all the advice, I have already bought a dry and wet multivan factory webasto.

Users share insights on the challenges of retrofitting an original Webasto heater, noting that it may require extensive modifications. Alternatives such as the Eberspacher D2 and Webasto Airtop 2000 are recommended for their efficiency and ease of installation. Concerns about battery capacity and the need for a dedicated charging system while driving are also highlighted.
