    Hello. I have a little depleted lithium thin round batteries. And can I charge them with solar this solar battery.

    The battery doesn't charge at all. Only batteries can be used.

    An explosive material is formed in the lithium battery during charging. Designers did a hard job of making a lithium battery that, at least when properly charged, would not produce an explosive reaction. I saw descriptions of two experiments - in one explosion he bent the steel plate and dug shards into the walls (fortunately it happened in the absence of the experimenter); in the second, it damaged an old sink (ceramic) in which the battery was placed (the experimenter took care of a safe cover).

    Probably the charging current was too high and the evolving gases burst the housing. You can't charge because the processes that occur when the battery is discharged are not reversible. Personally, I was able to recharge such batteries at 5-10% capacity and stopped charging.

    A new battery costs PLN 1.5. I don't know a colleague but I assume that a colleague does not have adequate knowledge or measures to perform a safe test. Secondly, there is a risk that the battery will spill over time and damage the device.

    And at low current it can explode - electrochemical reactions with lithium take place so that an explosive lithium compound is formed. Do not charge lithium batteries!

    The gas pressure would not cause the steel sheet to bend, it would not shoot debris so that it would stick into the walls - and this was observed when charging the lithium battery.

    Similar problems were with mercury batteries (probably mercury fulminate and the battery exploded), too they were not allowed to load but I don't think they are on sale anymore.

    Lithium batteries cannot be recharged, what is worse, as a result of charging, the parameters may deteriorate instead of improve.
    Such batteries often work in clock and memory backup systems, in these systems a diode is used to protect against charging and it can not be any diode, the reverse current of many popular Schottky diodes is too large to guarantee that the total charge "controlled" in the battery will not exceed 1% of capacity.
