Hello. I recently bought a Paslode IM90 CI nailer and to my surprise the gases that I have from the earlier model of such nailer do not match because the manufacturer chips the gases and only those with the chip work. Therefore, I have a question whether it is possible to somehow bypass the removal of this blockade because work on the original gases is uneconomical.

    Not enough information.
I also have the same problem in my spare time I will take pictures and develop your inquiry.
The chip blocks the gas injection, if you handle it, it will be a problem, I only have to buy a small, very small impulse controller because the gas dose must be calculated otherwise it does not shoot and you have to stuff it somewhere else

I know that I am writing here practically alone, but I have personally started working on the modification of the nailer, if anyone is willing to cooperate, please contact me :) .
Currently, it is completing parts of the new system

I see a handful of them working on it, but somebody's made it (it's this video from you tube). Does anyone know how this man did it and if it really works.

I talked to him and some electronics changed his entire interior, the cost is supposedly 600 PLN.

At the moment I spent 30 and if I find a moment, I suspect that everything will work, but I have so much work recently that I don't have time to put it together. When I'm finished, I will publish the result on YouTube

I didn't solve the problem, I sold a nailer and bought an older model without a chip.

Does anyone know how to solve it, or maybe what chip is it, how to reset it or copy it, it's rfid?

Soon I will have two pistols in stock - PPN50Ci and IM90Ci. I will definitely try to solve this problem, I will start by locating the chip and checking if it only gives information to the machine - ok it's the original gas, is it also the number of shots written on it, etc. If the first option, filling the cartridges may be a rescue .

But I wonder if the Lord @bxumm he solved the problem differently :)

FiK - the device detects the chip. it will not work without it, you can only fire 1250 shots on 1 chip, filling with gas will not help

I bought a different nailer model because it generates too high operating costs. Topic is closed.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the Paslode IM90 CI nailer, specifically the issue of compatibility with gas cartridges that contain a chip for operation. Users express frustration over the inability to use older gas cartridges due to this chip, which blocks gas injection unless the cartridge is specifically designed for the IM90 CI. Some participants are exploring modifications to bypass this restriction, including electronic alterations and potential chip cloning. A few have attempted to locate the chip's function and consider refilling cartridges as a possible solution. However, there are concerns that the device's firmware may prevent operation without the original chip. Ultimately, some users have opted to switch to older models without this chip requirement due to high operational costs.
