    Hello

Old, not to say older than coal, but still functional and quite sufficient for my home requirements. Connected via a USB-> LPT adapter to the Synology NAS server, which serves as the print server. The printer works without any major problems with XP, Vista. With a new laptop / Win10 ni du du. No drivers. I looked through the net a bit, incl. this topic,:

but there was talk about Win 7. HP's got completely unplugged - they do not support equipment older than 10 years, there is barely a note on their pages that they used to produce.
    Maybe someone something ...?

    Best regards.

I wrote before and maybe from a different barrel. I have an HP LaserJet 2100 + JetDirect printer (LAN printing). According to the printout, hardware from 2003, the system on computers is Win XP and Win 10. Both drivers for Win XP are installed. Printing possible from both computers.

Have you tried plugging straight into the USB port of your laptop? The correct drivers should be downloaded automatically from WindowsUpdate.

    Hello,
In the meantime, I plugged it directly to the USB port on my laptop and indeed - the printer "by itself" appeared on the list. Unfortunately, the joy was short-lived. The printer does not print. The job briefly appears in the print queue - disappears - and nothing. No reaction. The printer properties show that it is connected to the port "USB001 - Virtual port for USB printer - HP710c".

To be sure, I also checked the equipment by connecting to an older laptop with Vista and here it hit without any problems. So the hardware is working: printer and USB LPT adapter.
    Maybe some more ideas?

If you have a connected printer and your computer sees it, uninstall the printer drivers in Device Manager. After starting uninstallation, disconnect it so that the drivers won't install again, restart your computer and try to reconnect it to the USB port, it may re-install fresh drivers from Windows Update this way.

    Hello
Recently the problem was solved: by purchasing a new, small b & w laser printer. I chose the Samsung m2026w model.
I could not get the old HP to print under Win10. The erstwhile digging on the Internet did not bring any results - users complained about the same problem, someone seems to have managed to solve it by installing an XP emulator, but in the long run this is probably not the way. Anyway, the device was failing more and more often, problems with feeding the paper, cleaning the rollers was not very effective anymore. Well, it's time for everything, even the HP710C ;)
    Best regards.
