    Hello!
There's something in my right front wheel. I suspect the placenta, when straight driving it roars and when turning right there is silence. According to what I found now, it is not possible to replace the bearing itself, only with the hub.
Is it possible to work around it somehow not to set convergence because I set it yesterday?

Replacing the front wheel hub should not change the toe, so it does not require re-setting.

But pulling out the crossover can affect it, so it doesn't hurt to check later.

And what does this exchange look like in the workshop? exchange and the price is convergence if they have an instrument for it and do not take it off (I guess it may depend on the workshop or have something like that), how is it usually?

I saw it, it costs 5,000 but does every major workshop not Janusz have something like this? probably not .

It is much cheaper without hydraulics. Without such a device, it is not possible to press the bearing correctly. I made some holes for it in the Passat B5 spacing and change bearings without removing the steering knuckle.

and workshops (not Janusz) usually have such tools? do the press and hi with work?

So they pull out the switches and take only PLN 60 for exchange. And I have to do convergence at a separate cost?

If we are talking about the same placenta as in Cordoba 2, t5 and tuaregu, then in the press there is no chance for correct assumption and longevity.

Do not worry, there is nothing to adjust when removing the crossover. However, the bearing will be damaged during assembly as it will be pressed in without the device.

But somehow the steering arm must be separated and it holds the pin on 3 screws if they are unscrewed the convergence is to be set.

And how do you split on the pin?

    @ T5

I know you can do it on a bolt but I just heard how they turn off rather than split, that's why this topic is so hollow.

If they spin and there is no set convergence, it can be seen by the position of the steering wheel speak good?

Chick, it's a half hour job.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the replacement of the front wheel bearing and hub on a VW Polo 9n, with a focus on the associated driving noise and steering issues. The user suspects a problem with the right front wheel, noting a roaring sound during straight driving and silence when turning right. Responses indicate that replacing the hub typically does not require resetting the toe alignment, although some caution that removing the steering components may affect it. The cost of replacement and the necessity of specialized tools for proper bearing installation are also discussed, with some users sharing experiences about workshops and the tools available. Concerns about potential damage to the bearing during installation without the correct equipment are raised, along with the importance of ensuring proper alignment post-repair.
