How do you connect throttle and shift rods with the engine? There are holes on the engine to screw the brackets. Just how do they look and can you buy them and where? Maybe someone has pictures of the connection? Connecting Throttle and Shift Rods to Mercury 30 Outboard Engine: Where to Buy Brackets? Look for "Mercontrol" - sets of shifters, ropes, and mounting accessories. There's lots of it on the Net. :D

I was browsing, there is nothing from the engine side. I bought a used engine, I suspect that these parts were new. On stubborn I could make some extra money but the originals will be better. I don't even know what it should look like. Maybe someone else will speak.

I'll take a picture later about how it looks at Suzuki, similarly.

This is the original Suzuki set, and the universal two-link handle, i.e. gas and reverser (gears). This should give you an idea of how it works. :D Do you have a steering gear with "Bowden" cable? The upper rod directly controls the gear lever, the lower one through the angle lever controls the throttle. The tiller and the "gas" twist grip are removed from it. The self-locking nut at the very bottom connects the end of the "steering" to the engine.

I have solved the matter with the steering wheel, gear and steering wheel. The gearshift lever has a butterfly-shaped hole (secure snap-on mounting) When changing gears, the lever changes position and the hole changes height. The attachment of the cable to the bracket must therefore be movable. Thanks to you I already have an idea how to do it. The same thing is with the gas cable. Thank you for your help. Regards.

As a digression, I interrupt that the idiot shifters do not give full control over the engine, think about maybe separate gear and throttle control? Sometimes it comes in handy :D

I have a double lever. A separate throttle lever and a separate one for gear shifting. Connecting Throttle and Shift Rods to Mercury 30 Outboard Engine: Where to Buy Brackets?
