Make sure you have connected the voltage to the antenna amplifier cable. Without this the radio does not receive anything at all, I was also struggling with this problem. After plugging in the power to the wave amplifier, it began to receive better ... but nevertheless much worse than the factory radio.
For me, 20 kilometers from a large city, some stations begin to lose, and there is noise in the city between the buildings. I am at the stage of searching for possible solutions to this problem, which is something they write about here: https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3326113.html " target="_blank" class="postlink inline" title="" > https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3326113.html

    Hello.
For every non-original VAG radio you need to get an antenna separator - in the absence of it the antenna amplifier does not get power.
In VAG radios, the antenna is powered via the antenna cable and is connected to the radio head. To power the amplifier, you need to buy an antenna separator and connect the ANT_CTRL or AMP_CTRL cable to it (+ 12V appears on both after turning on the radio).
I installed such in Fabi I (2003) and Megane II (2003) - they work quite well.
    Greetings.
    PS
Have you connected CAN and does it work in Octavia?

For me, not Octavia, only Fabia 1.4 MPI 2003 - but like every VAG, the antenna power supply MUST be through a separator for a radio other than VAG (original radio listed first for Sony CDX-GT474 + separator, then Vordon HT 869v2 + the same separator) . Antenna power supply in the separator (blue wire) connected to the ANT_CTRL cable coming out of the radio (+ 12V after switching on the radio, in the case of Vordon it may also be AMP_CTRL)
If it is even worse through the separator, then I would look for damage in the antenna amplifier (in the antenna base).
    Greetings.
