    I am computer green.
Please support me how to reinstall on 64x.
I understand that it can be imposed on the system partition?
    I have Windows 32bit Professional.
I want to change to 64x mainly due to the reduced amount of RAM.
Are there any minuses of the 64x version?
Can some programs not work on 64x?
    Regards

From 32bit to 64bit, I have not seen such a transformation without a form.

    It's definitely worth changing.

First, rip the data from the c: partition because they will be lost.

Make a so-called bootable flash drive with the help of e.g. Rufus (of course you need an iso image with the system)

Then the computer starts so that it doesn't start Windows normally, just the pen ...

    e.t.c...

Rafał is not a failure, I have 6GB and here it shows 3.5GB - who came up with something like that ...
Can I just put a new system on partition C? All data, photos, files have D and C only system and programs, so they will go down the drain.

I would rather not make an overlay, I can do it but after a while something usually falls apart.

As soon as you install it on 2 partitions and you will have 2 systems :)

Is to perform a normal installation on the C partition and writes about it!

Listen and I still have such an idea. I have two 500GB disks included.
I will install x64 on the second disk and give boot from it. In case I can always change to boot from 1 disk in old Bios or x86.
In total, one Windows only takes 20GB :)

There can also be 2 systems on one disk only on another partition.
There is no need to enter the bios after installing Windows at startup asking you which system you want to turn on.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around upgrading from Windows 7 Professional 32-bit to 64-bit to utilize more RAM, as the user currently has 6GB but only 3.49GB is accessible due to the 32-bit limitation. Key steps include backing up data from the C: partition, creating a bootable USB drive using tools like Rufus, and performing a clean installation of the 64-bit OS. Users express concerns about data loss and compatibility with existing programs, but it is generally agreed that a fresh installation is necessary for the transition. Some users suggest installing the new OS on a second disk to avoid complications with the existing setup.
