Gentlemen Vectra c engine 1.9 cdti. The owner noticed while driving that esp, abs turned on and after a while the assistance disappeared. He drove to the parking lot and the car went out. Of course, the alternator was suspected. Disassembled and on the table. Voltage regulator for replacement - the current was between 10.5 -12.9 V. Alternator mounted and there is no way to check the charge because it does not ignite. So far ; prophylactically replaced battery for another, checked connections at the starter, replaced relay starter. Evident lack of starter relay control. On the jumper without a relay (3 from the front strip) the starter turns. A bundled wire at the engine control unit. Pin 72 brown / yellow appears after ignition. I was advised that still pin 70 gray / red there in turn appears a plus after ignition - about 12 volts. And here the stairs begin because if I give this pin (gray / red) mass through the neon lamp, the car turns but still does not start. The errors will be checked and I will give the result. Maybe you have some hints and what else to check. Greetings .

And you can be right because after connecting the computer no communication with the engine controller, no communication with the immobilizer and additionally an error in communication with the power steering pump. Additionally, communication errors with ecu. Can I replace it with another ??? Do you need to code or change something ???

Fighting continues. Colleagues, please give your hints if CIM can cause a lack of communication behind the engine controller, power steering and immobilizer The car does not start, no communication with the above modules. I called cim repair companies but not everyone fixes them - it's about Vectre c. Could there be another fault ??? . The only option that is supposedly at stake is to buy another cim and transfer memory. Please give me a hint what else I can check before I send it for repair.

See if you have ecu power, see if something sticks to CAN.
You can unplug your abs and support for good morning separately.

buddy seat21 expand your thought. You can specify how to make this jumper. As for ABS already unfastened and there was no reaction. Now I tried to unplug the booster pump but somebody smeared the ankle with glue and I can't remove it without damaging the pump itself. If you have it, give the colors of the wires and cut the circuit in the bundle. It will be faster and I will not damage the power steering pump. I checked again for errors and still no communication with abs, power steering, engine immobilizer. In one module he sees the error U2115 communication with ecm - motor control module - permanent. Proper communication only with airbag. I will only add that the cushions see 12v, and the abs pump clicks three times when the ignition is switched on. The fuel pump also works when the ignition is switched on.

Insert abs and cut CAN from the power steering pump.

2 white, 2 green and one black go to the power steering pump. In the plug next to two thick brown and red - power. Should I cut off the white and green and make a jumper bypassing the power steering pump ??? I am asking for a hint because I read that one of my colleagues had a problem with pin 15.

    Added after 19 [minutes]:

Wires cut off green and white - in a bundle on top. Bridged of course white-white, green-green. After turning the starter, he said. Unfortunately, as always, the battery died. I will charge it immediately and give a sign in a few hours. If everything is OK, does it mean that the power steering pump for repair / replacement ???. Thank you very much for your hints and help.

Added after 4 [hours] 55 [minutes]:

Battery charged - the car smokes. The reason for the failure was the power steering pump (I will probably tell you exactly how to replace it or repair the current one). Thank you very much for your help. I will let you know after the exchange.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2005 Opel Vectra C with a 1.9 CDTI engine that fails to start after a battery discharge. The owner initially suspected the alternator, which was tested and found to have a faulty voltage regulator. Despite replacing the battery and starter relay, the vehicle showed no response from the starter. Communication issues with the engine control unit (ECU), immobilizer, and power steering pump were identified. Suggestions included checking ECU power, disconnecting the ABS and power steering pump, and using jumpers to bypass potential faults. Ultimately, the power steering pump was determined to be the cause of the failure, and the owner planned to repair or replace it.
