    Hello, forum members.
I have a car like in the title, namely MB w168 A140 98.
My problem is that the car fires very quickly when it's cold (you have to shoot 30 times or better: /). I have already read a lot of topics regarding such a problem and on the basis of these I exchanged the following items, but the problem remained unchanged. I am asking you for some direction to try to solve this problem.

    listed:
    - flow meter with ECU, immo, ignition and keys
    - fuel pump (now gives pressure on the 3.5 bar bar)
    - spark plugs (three electrodes)
    - also the bare engine was replaced without accessories because the oil pump was fired, but the problem with firing was the same

I will add that as it is warm outside, around 25-30 degrees, the car burns faster (10 times).

You checked the parameters of the cold engine (sensor indications, errors).

I have not checked the errors until now ...

additionally, all the controls light up on the board and only the pillow goes out after a while, the rest remain unchanged.

As soon as it fires, when the gas is added, it throttles, and with gentle pressure the speed increases smoothly, when it heats up the symptoms of those missing and burns also from the arrow

symptom typical for problems with the dose of fuel.

I think that it is very possible because you can feel the fuel from the exhaust, sometimes even shoot ...
As if it was flooding or the candles were too small. ..
Maybe these 3-pole candles are not suitable?

Check the temperature of the engine at night ecu. It has to be like air.

Can you check it out manually or only the SD comes into play?

As for the flow meter, the second one is inserted, 100% efficient, because the previous car fired easily on it and worked nicely.

Check the connection with the tester connector.

I changed the 2-pole candles, gave the extra mass from the coils to the car bodies and took the car in the hall ....

It fired and now fires always for 1 time but ...
Strangely reacts to the gas pedal, i.e. it chokes stupidly "it only helps rapid pumping with a pedal" after exceeding 2 thousand rpm reacts normally

Gentlemen, I have had this trash for a long time and exchanged a flow of 800 PLN, 700 PLN support pump, 400 PLN fuel pump, sensors, idt probes, and the car continues to fail. Well, we have two cars because we can not count on this grandfather. because its value is already small so I decided to convert lpg from the sequential on the first generation and it will run on gas and rides only on gas. I once had a car with such an installation and it only went on gas and ignited at -25 unless aku could not spin. The results of my play will be presented soon. I am asking you that the car is needed only near the house. I'm happy

The car had sequences, but in order to turn on the need 25 degrees and how tep will fall after the night is how to warm it up as I do not want to walk on the bite. Today I for a short time pressed the vacuum evaporator and the hose was put into the manifold.Auto zaplało from the first start, it came in about 1100 obr after a moment to go down to 900 and so remained. The most important thing is that it walks smoothly without any hacking you can say with a book. I know that the solution is unusual but will allow the operation of the car :D Mercedes A-Class A140 W168 1998 it's very hard to start cold . And I will say that even on the sequence the car worked with a slight interlacing on low revs, despite the adjustment and replacement of injectors at the gasifier. I am happy.

I forgot to write that the fuel pump relay removed any pressure on the rail and the car only goes on gas. Everything is made up provisionally but it works beautifully, the car bursting like never before. Now, everything must be assembled to poządek.Pozdrawiam

I coped with heavy merca smoking. The mechanics said miracles and wanted to exchange the meter, etc. For 2 years, I started together with my wife in the morning using Samostart, who was dogged in the dolot. It was a tedious but cheap solution to heavy smoking from the wound of a cold engine. I read a lot and it turned out very easy ;-) .
It was enough to buy a STP injection cleaner and put it in the field of the fuel tank. Improvement was somehow, but not what it should. After a few days, the battery fell after a cold night. Pissed off because already several times it was refilled because I barely creased, I bought a new battery. After a few more days, the car burns without Samostart ;-)
A new battery, injection cleaner and, surprisingly, the car fires for once a night even at -10 ° C.
I think the injection cleaning procedure and the new start-up current are the reason for the car's repair.
    Greetings.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 1998 Mercedes A-Class A140 (W168) experiencing difficulty starting in cold conditions, requiring multiple attempts to ignite. The owner has replaced several components, including the flow meter, fuel pump, and spark plugs, but the issue persists. Forum members suggest checking engine parameters, error codes, and fuel dosage issues. The owner notes that the car starts more easily in warmer temperatures and has experimented with different spark plugs and grounding connections. Some users recommend using an injection cleaner and replacing the battery, which ultimately improved starting performance. The conversation highlights the complexity of diagnosing cold start issues in older vehicles and the potential for simple solutions.
