Hello, I will describe a strange problem. For some time I have been the owner of a Mercedes Mercedes from 1993 diesel. The problem is that in the morning when I light the beast on a cold engine it. From the arrow it smokes, and after driving a few kilometers and trying again to start the problem arises, namely turning does not bring the effect. But if I turn the ignition switch a little and wait on the twisted key, it sometimes lights up or not. After a few attempts, it fires up, but sometimes it happens that it ignites and turns too low and shakes terribly. I will add that if it lights up as it should be, it does not go out and you can drive up to 500 kilometers. Well, the battery is in good working order, the glow plugs were replaced with NGK oils, filters, including the fuel filter. I was looking for answers on the forums, but somehow I can not find anything specific please help because I do not want to change the car fields and still have a problem.

But our colleague made the task easier ... In 1993 Mercedes produced various cars with a diesel engine. PLEASE specify the car in question and add vehicle COLOR as a penalty!

No problem, I will take a picture tomorrow and look in the manual for the engine but I know it is less than two liters of 75 horses on a chain.

Either way you have an injection pump for regeneration. To be 100% sure when you don't want to ignite, cool the injection pump sections with water from a hose / watering can as it lights up as I wrote above.

I bet like a colleague above the injection pump :) old unit and not enough electronics to talk about mapping, which is usually done in newer engines with such problems :)

Only Mercedes preferred row pumps rather than rotary pumps, so pouring on the pump heads will do nothing. Quenching with pressure. One would have to look at whether he disconnects them.

So the model is 200 CW 202, I attach photos of the car and engine. Today, the new symptom appeared probably scared, I get on fire under Kaufland and startled the second time, but nothing works, directions, lights, indicators of silence and the engine is running. After switching off again, he lit it on a warm the first time, I attached a video. Some eggs with this man .

Then you have no power supply probably fuse blown. A lamp with a bulb and a second fuse are sufficient for repair. As for firing problems, you have vacuum extinguishing. There I would look for a reason. You probably have a "quencher". It rubs off and doesn't open until the very end. See if the "stop" lever on the injection pump is fully raised. The pictures can not be seen but it is probably a Bosch in-line pump.

Ok, but now everything is working normally. I read something about this gaszacz I do not know what is because it is my first diesel. Next week I will put the car in the workshop to see if the mechanic can handle it.
I am asking for some other ideas if someone knows something because as we know it our magician mechanics will not know what is. I will write to the mechanic what to check.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 1993 Mercedes diesel vehicle experiencing starting issues, particularly in cold conditions. The owner reports excessive smoke during startup, difficulty restarting after initial driving, and low RPMs when the engine does ignite. Despite replacing glow plugs and filters, the problem persists. Responses suggest potential issues with the injection pump, specifically the need for regeneration or checking the "stop" lever on the Bosch in-line pump. The owner identifies the model as a 200 CW 202 and mentions intermittent electrical issues, including blown fuses affecting power supply. The owner plans to consult a mechanic for further diagnosis.
