    Hello,

Today I bought a Man TGX 480 tractor from 2010 with an Intarder, automatic, mileage of 730,000 km.

So, I was returning by highway with the tractor itself and I noticed that at the engine speed of about 1350 rpm and speed of 89 km / h oil temperature is 97 degrees Celsius and oil pressure 5.6 BAR on completely flat terrain. And my doubt comes from the fact that I have a Man-TGX 440 (without intarder, mileage 760 thousand km) from 2008 and in it when driving at the same speed and with the same speed the oil temperature is about 90 degrees but the oil pressure is about 5.2 BAR.

I am aware that these are two different engines, but are you sure that this oil temperature is normal? I will add that the water temperature pointer also did not stick perfectly to the norm, e.g. as I accelerated with gas in the floor, the pointer deviated from the norm, as if minimal, but in the TGX 440 it does not deviate at all when accelerating with the tractor itself.

I will add that the tractor does not kick, works evenly, the oil is clean (it was changed 10 months ago and then the car stopped) and the combustion of the tractor itself closes at 14L / 100km (great wind blew) so compared to others, it's okay. The pressure at idle speed and 90 degree oil temperature is 2.1BAR.

Maybe some of you use or have the same tractor and can tell me how it looks at him and under what conditions?

Thank you and best regards :)

The water temperature should not exceed 90 degrees C. If the temperature reaches 80 degrees Celsius, a large circulation should open and the viscose should jump into the second gear.
Does the car cook like this at a standstill?
In what condition is the coolant?
    Does it meet the standards?
    Or is something stuffed?
Maybe it's worth connecting a diagnostic computer?

These are normal values. There is nothing to fear, values of +/- 10 degrees do not matter much. This is due to the design and performance of the cooling system, as well as the driving parameters themselves. (the wind will freeze and you will have a different engine load with the same speed and speed :) ).

    Hello,

For now, I found out from the service that the oil cooler, water pump and thermostat were replaced last year. For now, the car is being polished and has not yet traveled under the semi-trailer. As soon as it starts I will let you know what the parameters are at maximum load and different conditions.

    Regards :)

    Hello,

At the beginning I will say that I am sorry for such a long silence, but the car does not cover too great distances, only 20,000 km, which I waited to be able to finally describe how it works despite this higher oil temperature.

So, to this day Man drives :D and I hope he will ride for a long time, because despite my fears everything is in perfect order. Oil temperature when driving from 24t (Curtainsider) is maintained at 100 degrees (it fluctuates +/- 5 degrees) and oil pressure at low speed at this temperature does not fall below 1.7 bar. The water temperature also maintains values within normal limits, even in these severe conditions.

Oil consumption is also normal, 1l / 10,000 km in heavy conditions, i.e. 24t and non-stop city, i.e. continuous acceleration and braking, the rest of the left handers consumes the same amount of oil, which in my opinion is normal.

I don't know if this topic helped anyone, but it could have been the beginning of a serious matter, fortunately it is not and once again MAN did not let me down,

    Regards :)

hello, reheat the topic. I bought a car with the same engine 2013, euro 5, 480 km + intarder, fluid clean, no pressure in the tank, driving empty from the seller (outside temperature 28), oil temperature 104-105 degrees, fluid temperature supposedly normal, also like a friend I was scared because my 440 oil temperature 93-97 degrees, I washed the radiator from the outside - it was not particularly dirty because the fan was blowing water passing through the ribs, I replaced the thermostats from 83 to 79 and we will see,
I still have other jobs on him so it will take time. I have a question for experienced people, did I do the right thing by replacing the thermostats, and if there are errors visco, does it mean that it is good?

    Welcome,

Start with changing the oil, no one knows what is poured there. When riding a horse, the temperature of the oil above 100 degrees is average. With the cooler it may be that if there is a problem with heat dissipation, you need to replace it. In the car from the topic that I once assumed, the culprit was the radiator, after replacement, the oil temperature works around 100 degrees, water max 90 degrees. The radiator was killed terribly between the intercooler, there was no chance of washing it on the car.

But after the first, start with the oil! I recommend Texaco Delo 400 RDS 10W40, it is used in all cars.

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the oil temperature and pressure readings of two MAN TGX tractor models: the TGX 18.480 from 2010 and the TGX 440 from 2008. The user observed that the TGX 480 maintains an oil temperature of 97°C and pressure of 5.6 BAR at 1350 rpm and 89 km/h, while the TGX 440 shows lower values of 90°C and 5.2 BAR under similar conditions. Responses indicate that the observed oil temperature is within normal limits, with variations attributed to engine design and cooling system performance. Recommendations include checking coolant condition, replacing thermostats, and ensuring proper oil type is used. The user later confirmed that the TGX 480 operates well under load, maintaining oil temperature around 100°C and pressure above 1.7 BAR, with normal oil consumption.
