Laptop models: HP 6570b, HP 8470p, HP 6470b
Chipset: Intel QM77
Built-in graphics card: ATI 7570M (1GB)
Processor Generation: 3
CPUs that are present in these models: i7-3720QM (Quad), i7-3610QM (Quad), i7-3520M (Dual)
i5-3360M, i5-3320M, i5-3210M
For several days I have been fighting on the topic:
https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3333893.html
in which I am looking for a newer replacement for my current laptop (HP 6450b i7-720QM, ATI 540V)
From the offers on the Internet (used up to PLN 1200) I found the above-mentioned models that interest me.
Interesting due to the general CPU and 16GB RAM support and the presence of SATA3 that will not cut the SSD drive (sata2 vs sata3).
Most likely, I will buy a laptop with an i5 processor (these will be i5-3320M or i5-3210M) because that's the only thing they are currently
on sale, but in some time I would like to replace the CPU with the i7-3720QM or 3610QM.
The given laptop models differ depending on the manufacturer ID. We divide them into two types, i.e. those with a matrix 1920x1080 / 1600x900 and a built-in ATI 7570M card, and those with a matrix 1600x900 / 1366x768 without an ATI card. Instead of ATI there is Intel HD with CPU.
My question is: is it worth bothering about the lack of an ATI 7570M? How much will I lose against Intel graphics?
I use the computer for: Adobe Premiere (modifications, merging and other related to 720p / 1080p movies), work
in Photoshop (photo processing), programming (C / C # / C ++, JAVA, including working in ItelliJ Idea, Visual Express), internet 24h / 24 (YT, Online movies).
I will say right away: I do not play games. I didn't have any game on the disk, I don't have it and I will never have it. Not my world and not this age anymore. I am interested only in the smooth operation of graphics in movies.
I work with AutoCad, Flash Pro etc. from time to time.
I noticed that a laptop with an ATI card and a 1920x1080 matrix is more expensive by a minimum of PLN 400-500 compared to those with a 1600x900 matrix and an Intel card. The rest of the components are identical.
I want the matrix to have a minimum of 1600x900 and it just so happens that the prices of the above-mentioned models with such a matrix oscillate in the range of PLN 850-999 and it suits me. However, laptops with ATI on board oscillate in the range of PLN 1300-1600. Most often it is PLN 1450-1500.
Is it worth paying an extra PLN 500-600 just to have the ATI 7570M on board?
Will it be much better than the standard Intel built-in processor?
Ultimately, the computer is to have 16GB of RAM, so even 2GB of memory for graphics will not be a problem.
As far as I know, ATI 7570M has Open Gl version 4.2 and Shader version 5.0.
ATI has 1GB of its own memory (but here I can be wrong). DirectX 11.1.
I decided to ask this question due to the fact that I am not entirely sure whether the performance of cards integrated with the processor in laptops is equal to the performance of cards from CPUs for desktop computers.
For a long time I had the opportunity to work on a desktop computer that had a CD
Gigabyte H81MK with Celeron G1830 processor. There was an Intel HD card in the processor.
I was very, very pleased compared to the current laptop (ATI 4250 256M DX 10.1).
Looking for a laptop with ATI or not?
