    Hello.
I have a seemingly trivial question but I have not found this function anywhere.
Namely, how can you save a single Gmail message to a disk?
Being forewarned of your answers - I do not mean to save the attachment itself, only the entire content of the message along with the possible attachment, using Gmail on Mozilla.
Is there any plugin that allows you to use the drag / drop method?
Ps. For replying in style, install the mail client or make a backup and download copies of your @ to the disk also thank you, but that's not what I mean. :-)

    Greetings.

In what format? Because if in any of this is enough, click the "Print all" icon and then use the "Microsoft print to PDF" printer. You can also Ctrl-A, CTRL-C and paste into a file opened with a text editor.
Write to * .eml - click on the "More" icon, select "show original" from the menu, select "Copy to clipboard" on the next page. You paste the contents of the clipboard into a file with the EML extension and you are ready ...

@jdubowski - pdf is not an option, because it makes editing difficult.
Can you save a message in the .msg format?
If not, how to call the record in .eml, because at the stage of copying to the clipboard there is no such format after using "Save page as". :-)
Ps. Is there any Mozilla plugin to let the drag / drop option work?

I do not know the plugin. Personally, as I have a similar need, I print a message to a file.

At the stage of copying to the clipboard in the clipboard there is the content of the bottom window (below the blue key). This is the EML format.

    Maybe again with pictures:

    1. Click on the "More" icon:
Gmail: Save Entire Email Content with Attachments to Disk using Mozilla (Drag/Drop Plugins)

    2. Choose "show original" from the menu:
Gmail: Save Entire Email Content with Attachments to Disk using Mozilla (Drag/Drop Plugins)

    3. On the next page, select "Copy to clipboard":
Gmail: Save Entire Email Content with Attachments to Disk using Mozilla (Drag/Drop Plugins)

    4. Clipboard contents are pasted into a file with the EML extension in the selected folder:

MSG is a Microsoft format, EML is an open format. Install Outlook so you can save in MSG, or look for a tool, for example: https://www.outlookfreeware.com/en/products/all/OutlookConvertEML2MSG

Some time has passed but I am returning to the topic. ;-)
The solution was provided by Gmail itself: More >> Download message.
Unfortunately, this does not work properly, because if we are dealing with a multi-threaded message in which each one has attachments, these are downloaded only to the message of the last thread.
@jdubowski - can you check if there is a patent to download all attachments from multiple threads?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around saving entire Gmail messages, including attachments, to disk using Mozilla. Users seek a method to save messages in formats like .eml or .msg without relying on PDF, which complicates editing. Suggested methods include using the "Print all" feature to save as PDF, copying message content to a text file, or using the "Show original" option to copy the message in .eml format. A user notes that Gmail's "Download message" feature does not effectively handle multi-threaded messages with attachments. The conversation also touches on the need for a drag-and-drop plugin for easier saving.
