    Hello.

There is a problem with Thunderbird filling up the entire disk on the laptop.
I suspect that this is caused by downloading attachments to the disk.
    From sent and received messages.

How to block attachments from being copied to disk when sending messages?
How to limit the amount of space in TB it can take up on the disk.

    XP system.

    Options -> Attachments.

How long is TB currently taking? How fast is this place growing?

I don't know, not my computer. But the problem was like that before.
Something has just changed again and now I don't know what because I don't use TB myself.

This is some old 2008 laptop. I told you to change to a bigger disk but got the statement that they don't need a bigger disk just more space on the current one ....

So this is what it looks like leading a blind blind.

    Hello.

I checked the computer with some program to sort folders by size.

The largest file on the computer is sent 1 20 gb GB from 30 gb GB disk.

The problem is that in the location given by the program it is invisible.
    How to slim it down?

1.2GB for TB is not much for POP3 and a lot of attachments.

Do you need e-mails for something? Can you delete?
(you can always make a copy somewhere)

PS. If the disk has 30GB, why are you looking for a problem in TB?
PS2. What's the system there? Any big apps installed?

The Send1 Thunderbird file is 20 gb GB. And the disk is 30 gb GB.
It is not possible that the text of the message takes that long.

    XP system.

How can you remove it, delete it, if not, copy it to a disc / USB flash drive.

How do you want to limit the folder of sent messages then right click on the sent messages (in TB) and select Message storage rules.

    +

Options -> Attachments. (file storage options)

    PS.

Only the company catalog in pdf is sent from us.
But that would have to be 1000's of messages.
And the post office was cleaned some time ago.

Messages from 2016 are left. All previous ones have been deleted.
Is it possible to remove all attachments from sent?

You can send messages to yourself (folder) by unchecking attachments, then delete the sent folder.

Are needed? Isn't it easier to archive them?

    I can archive them.

But I don't know if it will do anything because despite not using TB for several days.
And removing temporary files and a few other junk.
Shoots the entire disk. I don't know if he's downloading old news again or what.
We don't even have that much space on the server.

    Hell, I don't get it.

There are 100-200 messages per mailbox on a computer.

And it still takes up 20GB.

    Directory from TB.

But uninstalling and deleting the entire folder helped.

The problem now is that TB has started downloading old news.
Although I set the limit for 360 days. I also have one from the beginning of 2015

Then delete messages from the mailbox or use IMAP instead of the POP3 server.
