Locating and Accessing Reverse Gear Sensor in Opel Corsa B 1.4: A Beginner's Guide

Where is the reverse-light switch on an Opel Corsa B 1.4, and how can I reach and test it?

The reverse-light switch is on the front of the gearbox, under the clutch lever, and you can reach it from above by opening the hood and looking for a two-pin connector, usually black or blue [#16486841] Before replacing anything, short the two wires at the connector and turn on the ignition to see whether the reverse lights come on; also check the plug, nearby wires, and the rear lamps [#16488558] If the switch seems to work only in a certain position, the issue may be its screw-in depth or a washer/gasket under it, because removing one washer can let the switch sit deeper and close the circuit properly [#16488784] Do not screw it in too deep, since the gearbox actuator must press the switch correctly [#16488784][#16488703] The original poster reported that removing the washer made it work, and planned to replace the part [#16490405]

I checked the bulb and fuse. I don't know much about cars, so I didn't know where exactly to look for the sensor, I would be grateful if someone told me how to get to it (I couldn't find it in google or in a book, and I don't want to unscrew something for no reason, because as I pointed out, I know little about cars :) ) ... I know it has to be on the gearbox, but I don't know whether to get there from below or from above.

There is one sensor in the chest and this particular one is on the front of the chest, lift the hood and look for two pins, black or blue.

No, this is a VSS (speed sensor). From the reversing light you have at the front of the box, under the clutch lever.

Thanks. It's starting to rain so I'll get it tomorrow, but at least I know where to look.

I understand that the right sensor can be seen in this photo ... :) ? ... I short the cables, turn on the ignition and check if the reverse light is on, if so I remove the element from the box and replace, if not ... then I go to the electrician ;) ?

Yeah, it looks like this, yeah, and I don't know :) Sometimes you can play with the washers under the sensor - manually press the button on the sensor, check if something can press this sensor in the hole after the sensor, because I saw somewhere that it fell and not the sensor, check the plug yourself, wires next to it and rear lamps.

    Yes.
There is no need to combine with washers, because they will fall into the box and there will be chaff.

I also had an installation in my car, an efficient sensor. The sensor worked only in the place where the box did not knock. After replacing the sensor with a new one, everything works.

Washer-gasket, I assume there is one, but in real life there can be two. Removing one will allow the sensor to screw in deeper, which can also help the sensor close the circuit.
You can not screw the sensor too deep, because the element in the box will catch on the sensor thread instead of pressing this mushroom in the sensor, but it will probably come out after manual pressing, screwing in the sensor without a possible washer. This screw-in depth should also be taken into account when installing a new sensor.

Thanks to everyone, so far I took out the washer and it works, by the way I will replace it with a new one.
