Hello! I have become the owner of a Romet rr 50 for a long time, after buying quite cheap, the tachometer does not work, so I thought the battery discharged is not suitable for anything, buy a new one and so I replaced it and the tip jumps slightly from orots to 1000 max and jumps like crazy what can be cause?

    Added after 48 [minutes]:

ok, a small update to this tachometer are 3 black and yellow, green and black cables when these cables are pressed on the tachometer, i.e. loose contacts?

What do you mean, stretch the cables?
For the tachometer to work, it must have power and pulses that it counts, so the installation must be operational.

Ok, the problem is solved, but the topic is not closed yet :) What was the reason ?
I corrected the contacts on the board on the pulse cable and it flashes, it's nice to look at.
Taking the opportunity, I had the original gear, front 12 teeth and 47 rear teeth have already passed, so I changed to new ones with the fact that the rear with 46 teeth and the front 17 the fact I gained longer gears, the problem is that in the 3rd gear the meter shows 86 km / ha, when driving in 4th gear, the power drops automatically, the speed is 65, this is the maximum I got down the hill, did I exaggerate with this output gear or does the problem appear somewhere else? model of the moped Romet rr 50

You hear if the engine is overloaded. You increased your speed 1.5 times and your thrust decreased 1.5 times.

In my opinion, the 12th or 13th. Your rear has been reduced by 1 which increased your speed by 2 percent.

I will count you for 15. 15/12 * (47/46) * 95 = 121.3 so much he would go, but does the engine advise?

Computing sucks. Since you increased the front end almost without changing the rear, the speed had to drop. Take a ride with a dual-gear bike and see how it works

    And solved the problem:
    - I did at the factory without combining.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the malfunctioning tachometer of a Romet RR 50 moped. The owner initially suspected a dead battery, which was replaced, but the tachometer still exhibited erratic behavior, with the needle jumping between 0 and 1000 RPM. Further investigation revealed loose contacts on the pulse cable, which, when corrected, resolved the tachometer issue. The owner then modified the gear ratios by changing the front and rear sprockets, leading to performance concerns in higher gears. Responses included advice on gear ratios and engine performance, indicating that the changes may have resulted in a loss of power and speed. The conversation also touched on potential upgrades and modifications to the engine without requiring additional electronic changes.
