Hello, as in the title, error 18009, the car does not start, when the ignition is turned on, the incandescent light turns on and the power steering starts to work even though the engine is not working, after about five seconds the fans are turned on, the fuel pump in the tank cannot be heard. After turning the ignition off and on several times, it is surprising, the chek engine light appears, the pump can be heard and the car starts. Then it goes out and it's the same again. I will add that the fuses and relays are checked, the masses are checked. There used to be a problem with the unit injection, but it does not crash this error anymore, I do not want to suggest anything, but it's piezo siemens and if one is damaged, the car will not start

You replaced the J317 relay - because it points to it.

The contacts of the relays are functional - how do you bring your nose closer and smell it?

In place of J317, after turning the ignition, there is power on the coil of this relay? - The connected 21 W light bulb is normal?

There is power on the current contact to ground?
On the second contact, the current draws the current - the connected H4 bulb from the + battery to the contact should shine half of its brightness.

I had the same problem and it turned out that the engine control unit was to blame. I gave the car to a friend who does this sort of thing, he replaced the controller, copied everything from the old one and the car runs just fine. He said it was a common problem with these cars. The controller was nice and no water got into it. he charged 600PLN for the whole thing. I don't know if this is a lot or a little, but I wouldn't have been able to do it myself anyway ;)

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around an Audi A3 2.0 TDI BKD experiencing ignition issues, specifically error 18009, which prevents the car from starting. The user notes that upon turning the ignition, the incandescent light activates, power steering engages, but the engine does not start. After several attempts, the check engine light appears, the fuel pump becomes audible, and the car starts momentarily before failing again. The user has checked fuses and relays, including the J317 relay and relay 458, confirming their functionality. A suggestion is made to verify power at the relay coil and current draw on the contacts to diagnose the issue further.
