Hello! I recently bought a BEKO MWTV 6633 BB washing machine with an inverter motor, a nickel-plated heater and a steel drum. An employee from the store said that I do not have to use Calgon etc. but somehow I do not believe him and that is why I would like to use the advice of local specialists because I trust only you. Question such as cleaning a washing machine, drum? What? On the net, I came across info about cleaning with an empty load with the addition of vinegar or soda. I want the washing machine to last as long as possible so I ask for some advice. Regards

If you have soft water - that is, there is no limescale in the kettle, cleaning can be let go.

The problem is to some extent due to the provisions determining the content of certain ingredients in washing powders [phosphate surfactants], whereas Calgon is not a powder and has a high content of such substances. You can use it and give less powder, you can give more powder just why if the water is soft?

Turn on the laundry at 90 degrees from time to time, because programs up to 40 degrees will not kill bacteria, fungi and other crap.

The bane of modern designs is the modular design of the drum, after three years the bearing was damaged and like a new washing machine kaput.

The primary cause of bearing damage is the development of the gasket, it begins to pass water and the bearings quickly get hit. There are also washing machines with a disassembled drum and the ability to replace the bearings yourself.

Thanks for the answers. I wouldn't say water is soft.
So, for example, once a month I should do empty laundry at 90C?
    And some vinegar or soda?

It's best not to use a rinse sebum called "rinse aid". Once a month program for 90st. with some descaler. Bearings - not replaceable - will last longer, not to mention other effects like simply washing in a clean washing machine.

    Hello.

My advice buy a guarantee for a minimum of 5 years.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions on how to operate and maintain the washing machine, which you probably gave in the operating instructions.

Perhaps the employee was right if there is no such record in the instruction manual.

Why I put an additional guarantee :!:

    That is why :spoko:
I will add to this my example:
Washing machine samsung september 2011 purchase, employee buy additional warranty for 5 years and I will do with it, but wife and take what there etc .. well ok we took a guarantee for 5 years.
Well, January 2016 broke down, 8 months before the end of the 5-year warranty
    But I have guarantees :D
During these 4 years we did not use anything, the manufacturer did not require it in the instructions, only at the very beginning we did the first wash as in the instructions. The washing machine went several times a week, even 2 times a day (I have two children).
The service technician arrived, brought a new drum housing, plastic tank where the bearings are and the drum is screwed to it and replaced. The old one took.
We did the first wash as per the instructions. And that's all.
Only that the new tank lasted until December 10 months, the service technician said during the exchange that it is the original new Samsung tank. Strange first lasted 4 years and the second 10 months, over 2 months after warranty.

I managed the bearings alone PLN 42 + 3 hours of work.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the maintenance of the BEKO MWTV 6633 BB washing machine, specifically regarding drum cleaning methods. Users suggest that if the water is soft, regular cleaning may not be necessary. However, for those with harder water, it is recommended to run an empty wash cycle at 90°C monthly, potentially using vinegar or baking soda as a descaler. Concerns about bearing damage due to gasket wear are noted, emphasizing the importance of following manufacturer guidelines for maintenance. Additionally, purchasing an extended warranty is advised for added security against potential breakdowns.
