    Hello,
My TV, Sharp Aquos LC-42XL2E after about 8 years of trouble-free operation suddenly turned off by itself (even the power diode goes out, which turns red when the remote is turned off).
After a few seconds, the TV turns on, plays a few minutes and turns off again - over and over again.
It looks like a power supply problem - maybe a thermistor or overload protection?
Does anyone from PT forum members have experience in this area (or even a service)?
I will be grateful for the hints.
    best regards

    Hello,
I also found it (yesterday) - and it seems to me that the power supply board will need to be replaced (probably the TH7000-1 thermistor causes this TV behavior ...). Let it be both cause and effect, because as soon as the effect, I will have a good ride - find the element (s) that cause (s) increased power consumption and overheating of this thermistor.
Anyway, thank you for your commitment.
I will let you know if replacing the power supply board has helped.
    best regards

    Hello,

my Sharp also turns itself off, what exactly did you replace, these two thermistors TH 7000 and TH 7001? where can I read their parameters to buy the correct one and I suspect soldering?

    Thank you in advance,

    best regards

    Hello,
I replaced the entire power board with these thermistors and it helped.
I can't enter the symbol for this tile right now, but I need to read it, search the internet and order.
    Greetings

The bridge for checking on TH7000 and on TH7001 and continues to turn off, they are not the cause, resoldering of the power supply, unplugging the inverters, the television starts, a voice is heard and continues to turn off. Did someone find what the problem is?

Topic summary

The Sharp Aquos LC-42XL2E television experienced a self-turning off issue after eight years of operation, with the power diode also turning off. The user suspected a power supply problem, possibly related to a thermistor or overload protection. Subsequent discussions revealed that replacing the power supply board, particularly the thermistors TH7000 and TH7001, resolved the issue. Other users also reported similar problems and sought advice on replacing these components. Some users attempted resoldering and checking the thermistors but continued to experience shutdowns, indicating that further diagnostics may be necessary for persistent issues.
