    Hi,

I replaced the rear SAM module in w164. Module bought new on the server. After that, my electric seats and interior lighting stopped working.
I chose the startup procedure in sd, I chose the coding, the seats started working, however, the problem is still with the interior lighting.
I noticed that if I choose the "additional interior lighting package - available" then next time I try to "start" there again appears "unavailable"
Entering coding via "construction data" I don't really see the option regarding interior lighting.
I would also like to add that there is no message on the meter regarding the open door.

If you are not sure about the correct programming, review the parameters again. You have to do it very carefully, because these parameters are a hell of a bit there. It is very good to prepare a list of additional equipment codes for this car before the whole operation. With the "lighting package" I would consider - if it is not present, then the coding will be withdrawn.
And finally: there is no "rear" module in this car.

    You didn't get it ;)
There is NO REAR module in this car (or any other)
There are also NO REAR wheels, REAR doors and other rear items.
Try to get it - others on the forum do it ;)
My comments did not concern the module which is not there, only recently I did such programming.
These SAMs are in a very unfortunate place - they end their lives most often because of water getting inside.

That's exactly what happened with mine. After repairing the hatch, the tinsmith did not fold the cover and it was poured ...

I managed to save the module but the partially oxidized components on the board responsible for tilting windows or parking sensors could not be saved and therefore I do not have these functions.

I got the second one alone

Today I will be approaching the subject for the first time
A colleague lent me a star diagnosis and I will start playing.

you can transfer the encoding from the old module to the new one

Theoretically you are right - if there is connectivity with the old module and if there is an option for automatic parameter transfer.

After all, it's an old topic like the world for 10 modules max 3 you can save a stimulus, you can buy a failure in a similar state, the coding normally goes SD in 10 min

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced after replacing the rear SAM module in a Mercedes ML W164. The user reports that while electric seats began functioning after coding, the interior lighting remains non-operational. Responses highlight the importance of accurate programming and suggest reviewing parameters and equipment codes. Some participants debate the existence of a "rear" SAM module, with one asserting that water damage is a common cause of module failure. Suggestions include transferring coding from the old module to the new one, provided connectivity exists. The conversation emphasizes the need for careful diagnosis and programming to restore full functionality.
