I have a Toyota Avensis from 2005, 1.8 petrol, engine designation 1ZZFE.
I have error P0136 and the check engine is lit. It is an error of poor catalyst efficiency - signal from the lambda probe.
Probably the previous owner cut the catalyst so hence the problem. After removing the lambda probe, the error becomes the error of its absence.
Is it possible to "cheat" this error by software or with a resistor and connect it instead of or with a lambda probe so that the computer does not detect it as an error?
btw. the mechanic told me that this bug disables some ESP system so i would like to get rid of it.
Does anyone know anything about the topic? Thank you for your help.
