I have a problem with the reception of some programs on the CP HD 6000 decoder. The image on some channels is of poor quality, or the board does not display a signal from the TV antenna. This is not the case for all programs: for example, on Channel 42 of CBS Europa this is happening. When I enter satellite dish settings in the menu, the quality and strength of the signal is 0. After a moment I switch to the 40 COMEDY CENTRAL channel, the picture is very nice. I enter the antenna settings on this channel and see: signal strength 80, quality 83. Please explain how it is on two channels almost simultaneously the decoder shows different antenna settings. The decoder has the latest updates and a loaded list of channels. The converter is Inverto TWIN RED EXTEND HDTV
I wrote to CP and I received the answer:
    Sir

We would like to kindly inform you that the described situation indicates incorrect setting of the antenna or problem with the converter. Poor picture quality or lack of channel reception are in this situation caused by insufficient signal strength. Therefore, we recommend checking the correctness of the antenna setting and the operation of the entire antenna installation.

We explain that the channels are broadcast on 4 frequencies: high vertical and high horizontal, low vertical and low horizontal. The converter and decoder have 4 heads adapted to receive these frequencies. A properly set antenna should receive the signal from all 4 frequencies. Incorrectly set antenna can receive several frequencies, not all, then on the channels whose frequency is not received, the following message is displayed: no signal.
There is also the possibility of a problem with the lack of signal on some of the channels, in case of damage to one of the converter heads or the decoder.

If you are sure that the problem does not lie with the antenna installation, we recommend that you go with the set-top box along with the accessories to the Authorized Sales Point in order to check the correct operation of the equipment.

As it was written, the converter receives signals in two polarizations and two frequency groups. The tuning of the converter to the transmitted signal is controlled by the decoder by supplying the appropriate voltage and frequency to the converter.
It can also happen that one channel is polarized horizontally and the other one vertically or are on other frequency groups and hence these differences.
So, apply to the operator's advice, check the decoder on a different antenna and if it is working, replace the converter.

Wikipedia: "At present, there are three active satellites at 13 ° E: Hot Bird 6 (Eutelsat Hot Bird 13A), Hot Bird 8 (Eutelsat Hot Bird 13B) and Hot Bird 9 (Eutelsat Hot Bird 13C)."
They are distant from each other and it may happen that you aim at one on the limit of range and the other 2 are out of range. The problem may be further aggravated by the redirection of beams to different parts of Europe.
    Adjust the antenna.

Thank you for the remarks. I have already set the antenna in various ways, moving the plate slightly to the sides or vertically causes no signal. The antenna does not obscure anything. Before I wrote to CP, I was thinking about buying a new converter. I was thinking about two: INVERTO TWIN BLACK ULTRA or INVERTO TWIN BLACK PREMIUM HDTV. The difference in price is around PLN 40. Is it worth overpaying and buying the more expensive one, or it will be a significant difference in my perception.

Price comparison shows that one costs from 50 zlotys and the other from 75 so it is not so much. But regardless of the beautiful marketing names, the measure of the quality of the converter is the noise figure. Both have 0.2. "If you can not see the difference then why overpay" :) .

You need to replace the decoder and that's it.

However, this is the fault of the converter. I connected the decoder to the neighbor's antenna installation, and despite the worse parameters, strength and quality, the decoder received correctly on all channels.

The bowl is new, undeformed. I have CP Familijny Max HD, I checked and from 200 channels only on 23 I do not have a picture and the board displays no signal. In the decoder menu in the antenna settings, the quality and strength of the signal is at 0. On the other channels, the quality and signal strength are 80 and 83, respectively, and it is very stable. If I start to set the antenna on channels where there is no signal, all other channels will disappear. I have noticed this problem for about two weeks. First, I explained it with storms and strong and discharges that could damage something. At about the same time, the decoder software was automatically updated, but it probably has nothing to do with it.

The channels are broadcast from various transponders. I know from my own experience how I set up my antenna in my truck (and I do it several times a week) that sometimes when I set a perfect signal, for example on Discovery, TVN channels have too low signal. A slight adjustment of the bowl, or twisting the converter sometimes helps. Maybe the wind slightly moved the antenna and there are effects. Also take into account the elevation angle.

Looking from behind the antenna should be twisted clockwise. Assuming that the handle is vertical, the turn should be around 7 ° in Dębica. With a bad twist you can have a shoulder to pick up some frequencies.

Thank you all for your comments. Today I founded a new Televes LNB twin 747802 converter and without the slightest problem in 20 minutes I was able to properly set up the antenna. In the decoder menu, the antenna's signal strength setting is 89% and the 100% quality is still on all channels that I did not receive on the Inwerto converter. Thank you again for the comments, but not everyone who said them read my post carefully.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around reception issues with the CP HD 6000 decoder, specifically regarding poor signal quality on certain channels, such as CBS Europa (Channel 42), while other channels like Comedy Central show good quality. Users suggest that the problem may stem from incorrect antenna settings, the converter's polarization, or issues with the converter itself. The author considers replacing the Inverto TWIN RED EXTEND HDTV converter with either the INVERTO TWIN BLACK ULTRA or INVERTO TWIN BLACK PREMIUM HDTV models. After testing the decoder with a neighbor's antenna, the author concludes that the converter was at fault. Ultimately, the author successfully resolves the issue by installing a new Televes LNB twin 747802 converter, achieving optimal signal strength and quality across all channels.
