When it comes to file compatibility, I have never had problems with any version - unless the file was damaged - for example, something popped up during writing, then it cannot be restored. Corel has one nice thing, too, if you are opening an older file, it notifies you of any missing items while opening it and suggests what to replace them with. It all depends on what you really need. Pinnacle finally has more than 1 video track and allows you to do any video editing other than the manufacturer decides. But in return, it offers many facilities and allows you to quickly edit a film to the appropriate standards without knowing the formats and systems. Sony Movie, although it is 4 times cheaper than the Pro version, is a very advanced program and the difference between Pro and Movie is really in the details. Pro has support for studio cameras, has several advanced options and, above all, allows you to work with formats that you will not use at home. Everything else including filters, transitions, format options is identical to the PRO version. The assembly is not easy and you need to familiarize yourself with its possibilities. Here you have an example of what can be done in Vegas + some other programs. You won't do that at Pinnacle.

Install drivers for the sound card from windows xp. How would Win7 persistently refuse to install the certificate signing off. I had a problem recently with the ASUSA (desktop) motherboard and Win10 - literally nothing worked under this system. And everything under Win7. The "on strength" installation of the older drivers restored the operation of the CD under the new system.

The boot loader is more of a problem than the ISO partition. If you want to make ISO disk you need to use good tools - and make 1: 1 copies of the whole. But this will only work for you if the disk is not bad (bad sectors) or if the other disk (if what you have crashes) is exactly the same size.

Stef or maybe you go about it in a different way. I also did it about 10 years ago ... and it doesn't make sense. I will give you an idea, which is how I have it. Why? You don't need any special machine on Windows Xp. Today you can easily find someone who has an older computer and wants to kick him out. You can slightly "tweak" it and under winXP as found. I have such a computer, it works as a server for devices, printers and sometimes an older game will also go. So how did he find it. You should have the second computer to work, which is reasonably efficient with the current system and software you need there. Freedom here. And the data. Just. You started to play with the multisystem, but you didn't think about data security. So RAID. Any CLOUD servers come with help here. This is where you save all the most important files. You have access to them from the network from anywhere, and the servers, as a rule, have 2 disks, so it makes copies for you (everything has to be set up in advance) And summary. If one system crashes, you still run on another without losing data - and believe me, losing your projects, sometimes doing them for a few weeks is more of a pain than the cost of replacing the HDD with a new one.
