    Good day.
I need help finding Dahua equivalents for BCS NVR0401-P and NVR08025M-P. I have tried on my own at http://www.dahuasecurity.com but I have fallen - I probably can't, for this the site comes very slowly. And I'm looking for answers to download the appropriate firmware file to update. BCS doesn't respond to my emails (yes, I checked the Spam folder). Someone will save?

Uploading third-party software to the recorder may end up killing the device even though it appears to be identical ;)

Then call me, there really are people who know each other and often help.

And that I will ask - why are you updating?

    For a fee of 60 PLN ;)
It used to be PLN 80, you can see that more and more of these devices are coming back to them ...

    Two reasons:
    - the first is motion detection by cameras; this cannot be brought about because they detect the movement of air particles and do not see the truck approaching. New versions are new algorithms ... Camera software is the latest available (cameras also BCS). New software versions allow direct access to the camera interface from the recorder, maybe there you can tune something by the way.
    - the second is "beloved" Webplugin: new versions allow logging into the recorder through a browser WITHOUT a webplugin, it is only needed for preview, and new versions work in new MS browsers under Windows 10.

You wrote to the right address that I would ask ;)
I have never had problems with communication with BCS.

Unfortunately, here I have to worry you. The firmware update of the recorder in this case will not do anything, because in the case of the KAMERAIP-> NVR connection - the camera is responsible for motion detection. So for motion detection to work better - you need to update your IP cameras.
And here I immediately say - yes, do not look that it could be different.

The second thing is that you have a specific processor (hisilicon) in the camera - which is weak by design - and there are 2-3 detection algorithms to it - which are also weak. Manufacturers are unlikely to improve them - because it gives nothing (restrictions).

I will agree with this - and it will help as much as possible.

That's the right question. By calling the NSS / BCS helpline at 100% we will hear the question: "And what is wrong with you, that you want to update?"

I have not tried - although I intend to, but I suggest asking this question to dahua technical support and give them the BCS symbol, the other way round the help may not work or the answer will be almost sure that "no".

Managed to! I downloaded firmware from a twin dahuy. I was not successful by smart pss so I uploaded via a web browser! after the upgrade I had to restore the factory settings. There is no trace of BCS. What's better - the recorder had no cloud support option. NOW LOGIN TO Easy4ip! I recommend - GOOD CHANGE :)

then tell me how did you solve the firmware problem - contact with Dahua or BCS?

There is an FTP link on the BCS website where you can download all new updates available. Also those with P2P support, which appeared in some new soft versions. link: ftp://ftp.bcscctv.pl/

For now, I was able to dig up a slightly newer version of the firmware from BCS. Since only the cameras are responsible for detection, the case is closed, there is no newer software.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around finding Dahua equivalent models for BCS NVR0401-P and NVR08025M-P to facilitate firmware updates. Users express concerns about the risks of uploading third-party firmware, as it may damage the device. The need for updates is justified by improvements in motion detection algorithms and browser access without plugins. Some users successfully updated their BCS devices with Dahua firmware, achieving features like cloud support. However, it is emphasized that the cameras primarily handle motion detection, and updating them may yield better results. Users also mention the availability of firmware updates on the BCS website and the importance of contacting technical support for assistance.
