    Hello.
Gentlemen, I have a question recently, a message appeared on the board regarding the level of coolant.
It did not surprise me because somewhere on the weld, the tank is sweating.
My surprise appeared when the liquid in the tank was refilled and the message remained.
The problem is probably on the side of the sensor and here the next surprise is the purchase of the sensor itself is an expense of PLN 80 and the tank with the sensor dedicated to this engine version costs PLN 180 (we are talking about the original GM)

After searching allegro for this version of the vectra, there are other tanks (for the 1.9 cdti engine) at half the price.

    My question
is it possible to change to another tank? of course, on the tank dedicated to vectra c
or if someone is so good, he will tell me how you can, for example, remove and check the sensor.

    Tomek

Check if the float sometimes hangs or the sensor itself is not bad. The tank can be replaced without any problems, the sensor itself is also attached with a latch.

    Hello.
I finally got ready to check this sensor in the expansion tank.
Unfortunately, after dismantling it, it turned out that it is different than what is sold at auctions on the Internet.
The sensor shown in the example photo.

My question, how does it work? The more so because it is completely disconnected from the fluid, after removing the sensor, the tank did not lose any fluid.

The sensor itself, as you can see in the photo, is an ordinary reed switch and there is a magnet in the float, the sensor is not directly inside the tank, but in a sleeve on which the float moves.
