    Hello.
Is it possible to use headphones for the phone as headphones and on the occasion of the microphone (I looked at the computer, mine have this option). I have searched the internet and unfortunately I have not found a solution to this problem.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Practically almost all newer mobile phones give the possibility of connecting headphones with a microphone. These from the computer do not always have to fit, [e.g. from a brave plug for headphones and a microphone]. An adapter may be needed.
It's best to go with your phone to the mobile phone store and match something.
In the new phone, headphones with a microphone should be included.

Only that these headphones (typical for the phone, earbuds) do not have a separate microphone, only it is built into the handset and the headphones have only one normal jack.
I was looking for an application that would allow me to set this headset microphone as the default one, but I did not find one.

These have a built-in microphone for the phone, when the wires to the left and right ear are spread, they are additionally equipped with a button for receiving calls, or listening to the radio, for changing the channels. They have a normal jack but with four conductive terminals: ground, left channel, right channel and microphone.

Familiarize yourself with the manual of your phone and you will find out the possibilities.

I tried to record an android voice recorder and the microphone worked. However, during the telephone conversations, no.

Apparently it's different microphones, in the electronics store you can see different types of microphones, from different sizes to different types [electrical parameters, for example resistance, or electric capacity]. The microphone in the computer headphones is larger than the microphone in the telephone headphones and it matters.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the feasibility of using phone headphones as both headphones and a microphone on a computer. Users noted that most modern mobile phones support headphones with built-in microphones, but compatibility with computers may require an adapter due to different jack configurations. The built-in microphone in phone earbuds typically lacks a separate mic, which complicates its use for calls on a computer. Some users reported success in using the microphone for recording applications on Android devices, but not during phone calls. The conversation highlighted the differences in microphone sizes and types between phone and computer headphones, suggesting that users should consult their device manuals for compatibility details.
